Indian Forest Service Exam widely known as UPSC IFS 2015-2016 exam is a national level exam. It is conducted to recruit officers for the Indian Forest Service. Applicants interested can fill the application form from the official website www.upsconline.nic.in ending 19th June, 2015. The Indian Forest Service Examination will consist of two successive stages i.e. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination for the selection of applicants for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination and shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. The IFS exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). An applicant who gets selected for IFS is being sent to Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration at Dehradun. In 2014, approximately 4.5 lakhs students appeared for the combined preliminary exam, out of which 85 were finally selected for IFS. The IFS exam will be held in the 23rd August, 2015.

UPSC IFS 2015-2016 Eligibility Criteria
Those applicants who are concerned must satisfy the below conditions to be eligible:
- Applicants should be either should be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanent setting in India.
- Applicant is required to be not less than 21 years of age and not more than 30 years of age to apply for the examination. The upper age limit for SC/ ST candidate is 5 years and for OBC candidates is 3 years.
- Applicant applying for the assessment must have at any rate completed their graduation or its equivalent exam from a recognized University/ Institution to be eligible.
- Applicant could do without scoring any minimum percentage of marks in their graduation. Only passed candidate can also apply to it.
- Applicant who are appearing for the final year or those who are waiting for results can to apply for the examination just if satisfies the conditions laid by the university.
UPSC IFS 2015-2016 Application form
Applicants who satisfied the eligibility criteria can apply for IFS 2015 through the following steps:
Step 1: Applicants applying have to apply online by visiting www. upsconline.nic.in
Step 2: Applicants have got to fill up their details about education qualification, private and other fine points as mentioned in the form and save it.
Step 3: Applicant need to upload their recent passport size photograph and signature and submit it.
Step 4: Applicant supposed to pay their application fees of Rs 100/- for Preliminary and Rs 200/- for Main Exam online through Debit/ Credit Card to complete the application form
(No fees for Female/ SC/ ST/ PH category students)
UPSC IFS 2015-2016 Exam Pattern
IFS is going to conduct 2 exams
- Civil Services Preliminary Examination
- Indian Forest Service Main Examination
- Preliminary Examination
(i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions).
(ii) The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
(iii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.
(iv) Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write the answers for them. However, Low Vision candidates (minimum 40% impairment) will be allowed to write the examination with the help of a scribe.
Low Vision candidates will also be allowed an extra time of forty minutes for each paper @ twenty minutes per hour. Each paper will be of two hours duration.

(d) Chemistry and Chemical Engineering
(e) Mathematics and Statistics
(f) Of the Engineering subjects viz. Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering not more than one subject
