UPSC CDS 2015 – 2016

Combine Defense Examination broadly recognized as UPSC CDS 2015 – 2016 is a national level defense exam. It is conducted for recruitment of candidates into the Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy.  Candidates interested can fill the application form from the official website www.upsconline.nic.in beginning from 27th July, 2015 and it is held twice in a year. The CDS entrance exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and candidates who are unmarried and have completed their graduation can only sit for the exam. Candidates are admitted effectively into the respective academies after the interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB). CDS entrance exam will be conducted on 1st November, 2015.

UPSC CDS 2015 – 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to satisfy the below conditions to be eligible for the examination:

Candidate should be either should be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanent  setting in India.

Educational Qualification

  • Indian Military Academy/ Officers Training Academy – Candidate must have a graduation degree or its equivalent degree from a recognized university/
  • Indian Naval Academy –Candidate should have at least completed their Bachelor of Engineering to be eligible.
  • Air Force Academy – Candidate be supposed to complete their 10+2 certificate exam or Bachelor’s degree with Physics and Maths up to 12th can apply.

Candidate appearing for the final year or waiting for the results can also apply for the examination.

Candidates should be physically fit as per the physical standards for admission to the Combined Defense Services Examination

UPSC CDS 2015 – 2016 Application form

Following are the steps to apply for CDS 2015 if the candidates satisfied the eligibility criteria:

Candidates appearing for CDS exam must apply online by visiting www. upsconline.nic.in

Candidates have to register in 2 parts

1st Part

Candidates have to register by entering their basic details and candidate will be prompted to check the details if any mistake make the correction at that time.

Candidate must then click on “I agree” button and a page of registration number and password will be created.

Candidates have to upload their recent passport size photograph and signature as mentioned in the form and submit it.

2nd Part

After completion of first part of registration candidate need to register UPSC CDS 2nd part through the ID provided.

Candidates need to fill in their private, qualification and other details as required for completing the application form and submit it.

UPSC CDS Application fees:

Candidates have to pay their application fees of Rs 200/- for general and OBC category and no fees is charged for SC/ ST/ PH students.
