The University of Petroleum and Engineering Studies conducts an online exam each year, which is known as the UPAT entrance test. The UPAT 2018 Exam will be held on April 18-19, 2018. The test also goes by the name of UPES Planning Aptitude Test. The test give admission to students in Bachelor of Planning courses. The UPES School of Planning and Architecture offers the B. Plan program for Architecture students.
The university notifies that candidates can take admission into the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies by qualifying the entrance examinations. However, before the candidates apply for the entrance exam, they should check their eligibility criteria ahead of making any application proceedings for this entrance exam.

UPAT Exam Dates 2018
Knowing the exam dates really helps the candidates in preparing for the test. The UPAT was held on 18th April in 2017.
The dates for 2018 are yet to release. The dates for UPAT 2018 Exam will be updated as soon as they are released. Candidates must keep checking the website for updates on the exam date and schedule.
UPAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria
The University has mentioned the eligibility criteria which all applying candidates need to qualify. Any candidate who does not qualify the eligibility criteria is not eligible to apply for the entrance exam. Hence, candidates are suggested to check their eligibility against the norms that have been laid down by the University for excepting candidates into the admission process. The eligibility criteria for the entrance exam of 2018 have been laid down by the University, and candidates can take a look at them below.
Age: All candidates born after the date of October 1, 1995 are eligible to apply. Candidates must check their age before applying for the entrance test. The proof of date of birth in the 10+2 level exam is considered as authentic.
Minimum Qualification: All candidates must acquire minimum aggregate marks of 50%. Candidates must acquire is the max in both class 10 and class 12. Candidate must study mathematics or statistics or business mathematics. The subjects are mandatory for eligibility and the students are eligible for the online test only on the basis of merit.
Through NATA/JEE Main/ Board Exam Merit
Candidates can also get admission through Board Merit. Candidate must secure at least 65% marks in class 10 and 12. Candidates must study with mathematics or statistics or business mathematics as core subject in previous qualifying examination. Candidates must study the subject as compulsory in 10+2 level. Then the candidates eligible for direct admissions.
Applying candidates have to secure at least 50% marks in class 10th and 12th. Candidates must study mathematics in class 12 as compulsory subject. NATA 2018 scores are valid the academic year and for candidates who have qualified in the NATA 2018 entrance exam.
UPAT 2018 Application Form
Candidates applying for this entrance exam can download the application forms in two ways. Candidates can either choose to apply online through the university website or I can download the application form and submit it manually by visiting any of the designated centres that has been set up by the University.
Candidates can download the application form online.
To download the application forms the candidates will have to visit the official University website of UPAT 2018. Now, the candidates will have to get themselves registered on the official website. To register, candidates will have to enter their personal and academic qualification details and hit the procedure button. Upon successful registration, candidates will be able to log back into their accounts and download application form from there.
Candidates can download application forms offline as well. In off-line mode, the candidates will have to purchase the prospectors through demand draft or cash.
Candidates must send a demand draft of Rs.1850 to the exam council, and the demand draft should be in favour of “UPES Fee Account.” The draft is payable at New Delhi to the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Enrolment office, Second floor, Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi, 110020.
Candidates can also purchase application form through cash. For that, the candidates must make a payment of Rs.1750 at any admission counter. Admission counters are located at Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Hyderabad.
Candidates can apply online and make payment of Rs.1850 through online payment modes like the use of debit card, credit card or net banking.
UPAT 2018 Exam Pattern
The University has notified the candidates of the exam pattern that they will be using for the entrance exam in 2018. Knowing the exam pattern beforehand allows the candidates to go back and practice mock test papers which would help increase their speed and accuracy. The exam pattern for the entrance exam is mentioned below.
Time Duration: Candidates will get 60 minutes to complete the test.
Exam Paper Sections: The paper has three sections. Mathematics section has 15 questions. The attitude section has 15 questions. The 3-D sensitivity section has 15 questions.
Number of Questions: There are total 45 questions in the paper.
Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in this exam. Candidates must make sure that they prepare well for the entrance exam.
UPAT 2018 Syllabus
The UPAT has no specific syllabus. The syllabus contains topics from mathematics and attitude. Candidates must go to their class 12 mathematics books for reference purposes. Candidates must refer to different Aptitude books for preparation. Candidates must focus on their Mathematics and Reasoning Abilities for scoring good marks in the exam. Those are the core areas of the exam. Hence, candidates must focus on the exam syllabus specifically.
UPAT 2018 Admit Card
Unlike other entrance exams, this entrance exam does not have any card for the candidates. The university does not issue admit cards but in the place of that the university issues the candidates with application numbers and passwords to not into that account for the entrance test. Candidates will receive login credentials two days before the test. Candidates must use their name and registered email ID to log into the account.
Candidates can also use their UPES application number to login to the account.
UPAT 2018 Result
The University will publish the results for UPAT 2018 via online mode. The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies will publish the results on the official website and candidates must visit official website to get the results. Candidates must enter their application form number and hit the submit button. This will show the results on the display, and after the announcement of UPAT results, candidate must sit for interviews. The personal interview rounds are conducted after result declaration. All candidates will get admission on the basis of merit obtained by them in the entrance exam. Candidates are suggested to score well in the exam they wish to qualify the merit list and proceed towards the counselling session.
UPAT 2018 Counselling
The University will conduct the counselling session once the results have been released and published on the official website. The University will also release a rank list which will contain the name of the shortlisted candidates who will then be eligible to appear for the counselling session. The counselling session will be conducted by the University of petroleum and energy studies at a later date which shall be disclosed after the declaration of results. However, the candidates who do make it to the merit list of the university must keep in mind that they will have to with themselves on previously submitted documents in original format. The university requires the candidates to carry these documents for the validation of proof and verification purposes. After successful verification, the candidates will be handed back the documents by the University.

Due to the absence of a rigid syllabus by the University, the candidates must take to the best study material that is available out there in the market. Although candidates must not indulge into studying from too many books or taking references from too many sources.
Candidates are suggested to prepare from various different books. Candidates can study from the reference books for preparation purposes but, they must make sure that they do not skip out any necessary chapters from the syllabus.
