The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata has declared an admission notification inviting applications from all those students who are eligible and interested to apply for its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme provided in the department of earth sciences, chemical sciences, biological sciences, mathematical and statistics and physical sciences for the academic session 2017.
Department of Biological Sciences: Those who are interested in applying for this programme have to be holding MSc/MS/MTech/M.VSc/MSC (Ag) degree (with at least 55% marks) in any branch of biological sciences to follow research in the broad fields of cellular and plant molecular biology, development biology, behavioral biology, molecular biology, cancer biology, structural biology, marine biology, microbiology, neurobiology, biodiversity, biotechnology, bioinformatics, ecology, biophysics and theoretical biology.
Students from agricultural science and nutritional science backgrounds can also apply to pursue research in the interdisciplinary research areas.
Department of Earth Sciences: Those students who are interested in applying for this programme must have completed their MSc/MTech/MSc Tech/MS (with at least 55% marks) in: Geology/earth sciences/marine geology/applied geology/geophysics any other geological sciences
Physics/chemistry/mathematics/biological sciences/environmental sciences/computational seismology/remote sensing and GIS /engineering.
All of you would be selected based on merit, subject specialization and are requested to be from research area.
