SPJIMR looks at 3 basic dimensions of a candidate i.e the candidate’s academic profile, the candidates professional development and goals and the candidates personal qualities while considering a particular candidate for admission. Under the academic profile they look at all the academic experiences in order to gauge the candidate’s ability to succeed at PGEMP, also the candidates past academic performance and the intellectual curiosity the candidate demonstrates are important variables during consideration for admissions.
The next dimension is that of personal development and goals under which they pay significant attention to the length of time spent in a management role, progression in job responsibilities and total work experience, how the candidate has distinguished themselves professionally. The type of job is not the only criteria that solely matters but more weightage is given on what the candidate has taken back from it and what have they contributed to the industry. Under the dimension of personal qualities they look for evidence of leadership qualities such as ethics, integrity, self-motivation, empathy, communication skills and personal style. They also seek to know if the candidate has changed themselves and how, how has the candidate stretched beyond their comfort zone, how have they affected change in the organization and what meaningful lessons has the client learnt from success and failures. Also they pay specific attention to extracurricular activities and accomplishments as it makes a person well-rounded, engaged and wanting to make a difference in their environment.
Eligibility For Admission
The criteria for eligibility into this course are working executives who are graduates (10+2+3) who have a minimum of 5 years of work experience after graduation are eligible to apply.

SP Jain Institute of Management & Research Selection process
The selection process takes around half a day and is held at Mumbai Campus and comprises of the personal interview which attempts to assess whether the candidate is able to own up the learning process and invest in extra hard work through the process of self-motivation. Following which they have the group discussion, IQ and psychometric tests after which the shortlisted candidates go through a group interview. For applicants of partner companies the process is coordinated through the respective HR department.
The merit list that then is generated is based on a composite score which comprises of the academic record, entrance test scores, relevance of work experience and performance in the two rounds of group interviews.
