Selection Procedure (Indian Candidates)
Candidates who wish to take admission in this course have to first appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs yearly. After which based on their performance on Cat they will be invited to appear for Written Ability Test (WAT) and personal interview which is held in the last week of Feb. Pease note that the candidates have to apply for CAT and admission to Master of Management separately and the IIMs have no role in the selection of candidates for the admission to the Management programme offered by School of Management (SOM) IIT Bombay.
Those candidates who secure a minimum aggregate of 60%[CGPI=6.5/10] over all the semesters of their Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) or masters degree in science (first class bachelor’s degree) are eligible for admission into the Masters of Management programme. 55 of relaxation of marks is available for those candidate3s who belong to SC or ST. Those who are appearing for their final degree examination can also apply and the admission for the same will be based on the fulfillment of the minimum eligibility criteria.

- The candidates have to firstly appear for online CAT. After the declaration of results the applicant has to complete the online application form which will be available around the first week of January.
- If sending a DD the candidate has to send the following documents:
- Passport size photograph
- Graduation Certificate / Copy of latest semester mark sheet (for students still appearing for the final semester or yet to receive Graduation Certificate)
- CASTE certificate
- CAT scorecard
- Those who have paid the form fees online need not send the scanned copies of the documents as the documents will be asked when required.
- After which the shortlisted candidates will be invited to appear for Written Ability Test (WAT) and personal Interview (PI) on the dates given by the institute and the candidate is asked to book a slot for the same as soon as the shortlist is released.
Selection procedure-Foreign Candidates
Candidates who hold a foreign passport or an Indian passport but who are currently studying or working abroad continuously for the last two years and who have a valid GMAT score are included in this category. These candidates need to have an undergraduate degree or a degree at par with it in Engineering (e.g. BS with major in any branch of Engineering, B.E., B.Tech., etc.) with First Class (grade point average of 6.5 on a scale of 10) or a graduate degree in any branch of Science (e.g. MS, M.Sc. etc.) with First Class (grade point average of 6.5 in a scale of 10) at Bachelor and Masters level.
Those who are appearing for the final degree examination can also apply and the admission in such cases will be based on fulfillment of the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates holding a foreign passport have to qualify in TOEFL or IELTS.
