SBI PO 2017 Exam Pattern officials have declared an examination pattern. Syllabus & exam pattern both are important aspects of life. There are three stages in the SBI PO examination viz. The preliminary examination, the main Examination and last but not the least, interview/Personality Test.

There are three stages in the SBI PO examination viz. Preliminary exam, Main Exam and interview/ Personality Test.

The qualifying candidates of the preliminary exam are called for appearing in online main exam. The aspirants, who qualify in the main exam, are called for the final round – group discussion & personal interview round. Candidates, who qualify the group discussion & personal interview round, are indicted by the SBI in its PO cadre at its branches across the country.

Exam pattern of SBI PO 2017 Online Preliminary examinations

  • Results for SBI PO 2017 Online Preliminary examinations will get declared in the month of June 2017.
  • A prelim exam is an online Exam (Computer Based).
  • Exam syllabus is divided into 3 sections (1) English Language, (2) Quantitative Aptitude and (3) Reasoning Ability.
  • The paper type will be objective & of 100 marks.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every incorrect answer.

Exam pattern of SBI PO 2017 Online Main examinations

  • The main exam will get held on 4th June 2017 & results will declare on 19th June 2017.
  • The Main Exam would be both Objective & Descriptive.
  • The exam will have 4 sections such as Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General Economics & Banking Awareness English Language.
  • The Question paper for the SBI PO main Exam will have 155 questions of 200 marks to be solved in 3 hours.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every incorrect answer.

SBI PO 2017 Descriptive Test

  • There will be a test of English language which will comprise the questions of letter writing and essay. Candidates need to secure the passing marks in the test which will be decided by SBI.
  • The test will be of descriptive nature and the questions will bear 50 marks. The time duration will be of 30 minutes to solve this descriptive test.


SBI PO 2017 Group Discussion & Interview

  • The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and the Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order for each category.
  • Cut off marks for group discussion & interview will be decided by bank authorities.
  • Candidates qualifying for GD & Interview under ‘OBC’ category.
  • Candidates need to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non-Creamy Layer’ clause.

SBI PO 2017 Final Selection

Candidates will finally be selected to be debuted in State bank of India (SBI) and the result of the successful candidates will be published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar and also in Bank’s website.
