SBI Clerk 2017 Selection Procedure: The Selection procedure of SBI Clerk is divided into two sections – Preliminary Examination and Mains Examination. As per the recruitment process of SBI, candidates need to clear the Preliminary exam with minimum marks to get qualify for next level I.E Main Entrance Exam. Letter of Appointment for the post of Junior Associates and Junior Agricultural Associates will be sent to those candidates placed high in the merit list.

 

Stages of SBI Clerk 2017 Selection Procedure

The selection Procedure of SBI Clerk will include the following stages:

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Mains Examination
  • Test of official or local language

Step-wise description of SBI Clerk Selection Procedure 2017

Step 1: Preliminary Examination:

  • A prelim exam is an online Exam (Computer Based).
  • Exam syllabus is divided into 3 sections (1) English Language, (2) Quantitative Aptitude and (3) Reasoning Ability.
  • The paper type will be objective & of 100 marks.
  • Time Duration be 1 Hour
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every incorrect answer.
  • Candidates will have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. An Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 20 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Mains Examination.

 

Step 2: Mains Examination:

  • The Main Exam would be both Objective & Descriptive.
  • Exam will have 5 sections such as General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude
  • The Question paper for the SBI Clerk 2017 main Exam will have 190 Questions
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every incorrect answer.
  • Candidates are also required to score minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon).
  • Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank.
  • The questions except General English will be set in English and Hindi.
  • The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank. Candidates will have to score a minimum percentage mark on aggregate. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation will be available thereon.
  • For the English language, the number of questions and marks will be 40 and the duration will be 35 minutes. For quantitative aptitude, the number of marks and questions will be 50 and the time duration will be 45 minutes. The number of questions and marks for reasoning ability and computer aptitude is 50 and 60 and the time duration is 45 minutes.

Step 3: Test of knowledge of an official/ local language in SBI Clerk 2017:

Candidates producing 10th standard mark sheet/certificate having evidence they have studied official (local) language will not be subjected to any language test. In the case of others, language test will be conducted at the time of interview (if the interview is held) /before final selection (if the interview is not held). Candidates who are not found to be proficient in official and/or local language would be disqualified.

 

Step 4: Final procedure of Selection for SBI Clerk 2017

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be taken into consideration during the selection process for SBI Clerk 2017. Only the marks obtained in the Mains Examination will be taken into consideration for deciding the final merit list. Candidates who stand sufficiently high in the merit will be provided with an appointment.
