The Nagpur University vice-chancellor Siddharthvinayak Kane is really upset with the failure of colleges to submit practical/sessional marks of their students which ended up in the delayed results declaration and has therefore ordered the officials to declare all results immediately.

He has basically asked them to withhold the results of the colleges who have failed to update the marks until they complete the required formalities while declaring the results of the others and also confirmed that the admission process is on hold for PG departments as final results of all UG courses such as B.A, B .Com and B. Sc are still not declared. “A majority of them were delayed due colleges did not submit practical/sessional marks. In fact, entire evaluation is ready and results are held up only due this factor. Despite many reminders, colleges were not responding. Since the final year students are suffering, I have directed them to declare all results,” he stated in an interview with TOI.

The VC claims he will view all options and take corrective action

The VC claimed that the delay is due to the non-cooperation from teacher’s who were failing to report for the mandatory duties of evaluating answer sheets. “We have issued notices to 300 teachers for dereliction of duty. All those cases would now move to Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC). I have sought names of all of them along with their colleges, which I will produce before the Management, Academic councils and Senate, if members protest our action. Unfortunately, there is no provision of stringent action in Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994, against such teachers,” he lamented while calling out the students to start attending classes instead of waiting for results.
When questioned as to why weren’t the teachers revoked he claimed he would explore all options. The parents and students alike especially those who appeared in the final year are worried as they are unable to get admitted into other universities nor get employment and are on a standstill. . “It is over two months since NU conducted BSc final exam in which my daughter appeared. As she had applied for PG admissions in Pune College, she needed final year mark-sheet. ,” a parent Virag Pachpore told TOI.
