NOIDA– On 2nd and 3rd March 2019, IIT-Roorkee is going to host the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon 2019. It will be inaugurated by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar through video conferencing. A live interactive session by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the major highlight of the event.
Smart India Hackathon 2019 is an India wide initiative for providing a platform to the students where they can solve the pressing problems and show their talent. HRD Ministry (MHRD) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) are the organizers of this initiative.
IIT-Roorkee claims this event to be the largest hardware & software hackathon with the participation of over 1 lakh technical students, 200 organizations, and over 3,000 technical institutions.
Participants will be facing seven problem statement based on Machine Learning (ML) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). A total of 196 students divided in 28 teams from different cities of India will be participating in the grand finale of this hackathon.
The jury will consist of the eight judges from industry and academia to evaluate the performance of the participants in three rounds. Team size will be 8 per team including two mentors in each team. The problem statement from KG Info Systems at nodal center IIT Roorkee will be coded for solution.
The last edition witnessed the participation of over 50,00,000 students from different technical institutions located at 35 different locations. This time the students will have the opportunity to work on real-life industrial challenges faced in the corporate sector and build world-class product for top-notch international companies. It will also help the private sector to assess the talent of the students and pick the best talent.
