More than 5 lakh students to appear for the Odisha Matric Exam that begins today

Noida:  The class 10th boards that are also called matric exams start today onwards in the state of Odisha and will last till March 8, 2019. Around six lakh students will appear for the exam in the state this year, said news agency PTI to be more precise, 572699 students will sit in the exam stated a regional media report.

The practical exams were commenced from February 11 to 16, this year. “The Odisha band did not have any impact on the dispatch of question papers for metric exams” said Pradipta Mohapatra, Principal Secretary of Schools and Mass education Department; adding “the question papers reached the nodal centers yesterday and will be sent to all the exam centers between 6 am and 8:30 am tomorrow.”

PTI quoted “The timing is very wrong as it is being observed a day before the annual high school examinations… the strike has put mental pressure on the students” said by the Odisha Agricultural and finance minister SB Behera.  In fact, Utkal University and Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University have also postponed the examinations that were scheduled for today, due to the nuisance created by the strike of the farmers. Whereas the Odisha CHSE or Odisha Council of Higher Education has also announced the commencement of the 12th boards or the intermediate exams as it is called, starting from March 7, 2019, and the matric exams have already begun today which is one day earlier than the last year’s 10th boards exam.
