MHRD announces NIRF Ranking 2019, Miranda House tops the list of best 10 Colleges in India

Noida -The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has published the NIRF Ranking 2019 on its website. Second time in a row, Delhi University’s Miranda House has topped the list of the best college in India. Miranda House, one of the oldest colleges of DU, continuously being ranked top in the NIRF Ranking. 6 Colleges of Delhi University has been included in the list, last year there were five Delhi University colleges in the list. One of the oldest government colleges of the country, Presidency College in Chennai has ranked 3rd in the list. Last year it was in the 5th position.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has launched the NIRF Ranking for the colleges in 2017. Apart from Miranda House, other best undergraduate colleges under Delhi University included in the list of best 10 Colleges in India are Hindu College, St. Stephen’s College, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Shri Ram College of Commerce and Hans Raj College. Chennai’s Loyola College has been ranked 6th, this year. Further, Rama Krishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, West Bengal has stepped slightly up from rank 9th to 8th position.

St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta has been tremendously shifted in the ranking released by MHRD. Last year, the college was on the 17th position. Based on the parameters exercised in this year’s ranking it has come within the top 10 best colleges in the country, ranking at number 10.

NIRF Ranking 2019: List of Top 10 Colleges in India

As per MHRD, the list of NIRF Ranking 2019 are as under:

  2. Hindu College, Delhi
  3. Presidency College, Chennai
  4. Stephen’s College, Delhi
  5. Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi
  6. Loyola College, Chennai
  7. Shri Ram College of Commerce
  8. Rama Krishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Kolkata
  9. Hansraj College, Delhi
  10. Xavier’s College, Calcutta
