NOIDA – On Saturday, an official of Jammu & Kashmir administration said that the rehiring of teachers and lecturers for academic bodies will start soon.

On Friday, a State Administrative Council (SAC) meeting was chaired by Governor Satya Pal Malik and the sanction was approved for rehiring of the teachers on contractual basis.

As per the official, “The approval to hire lecturers who have already worked with academic establishments last year was granted and the recruitment process will be concluded in the timeslot of March 11-June 30.”

The intent behind taking this decision is to ensure the academic activities in higher secondary schools without any interruption according to the spokesperson.

It is the every year practice to hire teachers on the contractual basis to fulfill the shortage of the teaching staff in the academic institutions to warrant the continual education.

In a year, 550 subject-specific teachers are recruited in 110 high schools under the central government-sponsored flagship scheme Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, now Samagra Shiksha. The temporary teaching staff will be recruited to teach the students of class 9th and 10th mainly. On 25th February, the term of temporary teaching staff came to an end.
