Jasprit Bumarah has emerged as the world-class bowler standing on first position in the ICC ODI Rankings. With his precise bowling action and wicket taking ability, he is counted among the top class bowlers of all times.
The beagles for ICC World Cup 2019 have already blown and Bumrah is going to be the key player for India. A professor of IIT-Kanpur, Sanjay Mittal has decoded the reasons behind the success of Bumrah.
While studying the Bumarah’s bowling, Mittal described how he produces speed and uses seam of the bowl. The rotational speed of 1,000 RPM produces only 0.1 spin ratio. Hence, the reverse Magnus effect generate and it makes his bowling more effective.
“Bumrah’s every delivery dips sharply because of the downward force on the ball and it also makes difficult for the batsmen to judge his ball,” said Mittal.
Mumbai Indians won IPL 2019 and Jaspreet Bumrah played a significant role in MI clinching the victory by taking 19 wickets, most of them at crucial stages of different games. From 5th June, India will start their world cup campaign against South Africa. Before this, Indian team is lined up to play warm-up matches on 25th and 28th May against New Zealand and Bangladesh respectively.
