IIM Indore Deputes Professor Himanshu Rai as Next Director

NOIDA- Prof Himanshu Rai has been selected as the next Director for IIM Indore by the Board of Governors. Prof Rai was serving as the Professor of Human Resource Management at IIM Lucknow. He will take the charge from Prof Rishikesha T Krishnan who is the present Director of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore on December 31, 2018 after the completion of his five-year term as director.

Prof Krishnan who has ended his term of director in IIM Indore said, “Professor Himanshu Rai has been appointed as the new Director by the Board and the selection procedure was quite stringent. I am quite sure that he would explicitly retain the reputable image of IIM Indore and enhance its visibility as global academic standard.

Prof Rai has restarted its teaching at IIM Lucknow from 1 September 2016 after a gap of two years.

In the period of these two years that is from 1 September 2014 to 31 August 2016, he was serving as the Dean at MISB Bocconi (India Campus of Bocconi, Milan and the Professor at SDA Bocconi School of Management, Milan, Italy.

Prof Rai was an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA) and since the year 2006has been guiding Post Graduate and Doctoral students at IIM Lucknow (IIML).

The major area of teaching for Prof Rai is Human Resource Management wherein he lays emphasis on Negotiation, Arbitration, Mediation, Leadership and Strategic HRM.

He keeps on organizing the workshops and training sessions for the bureaucrats and executives across the globe.

Earlier, he has also served as a Professor in the field of HR at XLRI Jamshedpur.

Being the Convener of CAT 2010, he effectively became the part of the largest format change in the testing history of the world surpassing all the world standards of testing. With his initiatives and steps, the IIMs have gained the parity pertaining to gender and educational background.
