NOIDA– On Monday, Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra said that the students should be acquainted with the gallantry endeavors of Air Force pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. Therefore, he wants the schools to include the brave anecdote of Varthaman in the school syllabus. Through a tweet minister said, “The Rajasthan government is planning to add the story of Abhinandan to the school syllabus in an effort to pay honor to his bravery and inspire the students. The commander did his schooling in Jodhpur.
According to the minister, his tweet was inspired by the country’s sentiment and he is yet to send a proposal for the same to the respective department. “What I tweeted was all about India wants. The government and the official education board will be the final authority to come over a decision on this”, the minister said.
The education board should introduce the story of Abhinandan in any of the classes from 8th to 12th. The subjects and classes to include the Abhinandan story will be decided by the Rajasthan government as per the minister.
After Pulwama attack, the education minister had said that the Rajasthan government is also planning to include the story of martyrs in the syllabus. Dostara told the journalist that the government is planning to constitute a committee to review the syllabus of all standards and make a plan for the inclusion.
“It’s our recommendation to establish a committee and review the current syllabus for the inclusion of Pulwama attack and Abhinandan’s bravery in syllabus. However, on the government will finally decided whether it should be added to the current syllabus or not,” said Dostara.
Wing Commander Abhinandan shot down the highly equipped Pakistani warplane F-16 with his Mig 21 and had to eject in Pakistan. The pilot came back home safely on Friday after exhibiting this valiant endeavor.
