Five students caught with mobile phone on the first day of WBCHSE Examination

Noida: In the HS Examination, five students were caught with mobile phones while entering in the centre of examination on the very first day of examination i.e. Tuesday. The news has been confirmed by an official of the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.  The registration of all five students was immediately cancelled by the official authority. All five students will not be permitted to appear in the HS examination in the future.

A strict step has been taken by the official authority to stop the leakage of question paper from the examination centre via social media. It has been furnished in the admit card that no candidate will be allowed to carry any electronic gadget in the centre of examination. Strict rules were framed after the case of Madhyamik question papers leaked on social media after minutes of the commencement of the examination.

After the leak of question papers incident, the checking and security at the centre of examination were made stricter. The authority organizes surprise checks inside the examination hall. Three invigilators were appointed by the authority in each examination hall. The five students were caught during these surprise checks only. Mobile phones can be carried by three officials only: the headmaster or teacher-in-charge, centre secretary and centers incharge.

Four students were from Malda and one from Howrah among the five students. The four students who were from Malda belong to the same school and appear for the examination at Gajal Shyamsukhi Balika Vidyalaya. The venue of examination of the Howrah students was at Sashati Nahata Avinash High School. Among the five students, three students were girl candidate and 2 were boys.

After the incident of the leak of Madhyamik question papers, the authority practice a litmus test on Tuesday to check if the question paper has been circulated online or not. In the result, no question paper was found.

The examination was of language i.e. Bengali, English, Hindi, Nepali, and Urdu. A total number of 8, 16, 243 students are appearing for the Higher secondary examination for the academic year 2018-2019.'
