DRDO extends the last date for ‘Dare to Dream’ contest registration

NOIDA- Owing to overwhelming response in registration, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has extended the ‘Dare to Dream’ contest application form submission date up to 31st March 2019. Earlier it was 28th February 2019. The official notification reads, “On popular demand, the closing date of Dare to Dream DRDO innovation contest is extended to March 31, 2019.”
The entries from individuals as well as start-up from various related niches are acceptable acceptable by the conducting body. Even the single person-run start-ups are eligible to apply for this contest. The winning prizes from start up category and for individuals are Rs 10 Lakh and 5 Lakh respectively.
The authority will notify only the selected candidates. The top three prizes in start-up category are Rs 10, 8 and 6 lakh whereas Rs 5, 4 and 3 lakh under the individual category.

Eligibility Criteria for DRDO Contest

Age Criteria– There is no upper age applicable on this contest. As far as minimum age is concerned, the candidates must be at least 18 years old to participate in this contest.
Recognitions- Recognitions are applicable on the ones who are applying under start-up category. They should have attained recognition from Department of Industry and Policy Promotion (DIPP).

What ‘Dare to Dream’ contest is all about?

This contest is all about research. Areas of research mainly include autonomous systems, AI, hypersonic technologies, cyber security, quantum computing, Tera Hz communication, soldier as a system.

How to Apply for Dream to Dare Contest?

• Go to the official website i.e. drdo.gov.in
• Hit the tab ‘dare to dream: DRDO Innovation contest’
• A new page will open up on the screen.
• ‘Register’ tab will be placed on top of the page, click on it
• Opt for either ‘Individual’ or ‘Startup’ and fill the details asked.
Candidates are advised to keep their mobile phone and email id active to receive the OTP.
