NOIDA– On Wednesday, the commerce students appeared in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 accounts examination. According to the students and experts, the paper was way lengthy for three hours and 2 questions worth 14 marks were wrongly framed in the paper.
Simran Kaur, an accountancy teacher from Chandigarh, said, “The paper was as per the expectations but it was too lengthy to be solved in 180 minutes.”
A student from Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS) Sector 19, Chandigarh said that he was not able to complete the paper within the timeline; he left questions worth 15 marks un-attempted.
A question from non-profit organization chapter was wrongly framed and it was worth 6 marks, as per the students.
Moreover, the question number 15 was confusing in which students were asked to prepare the receipt and payment account and the year mentioned was 2018, which should have been 2017 according to the other entries in the question.
One more goof up reported by the students was a question of eight marks from chapter reconstitution of partnership firm wherein realization account was asked instead of revaluation account.
Students were shocked as the questions of 15 marks were wrongly framed and they were neither given a choice against the same nor received any correction notification from CBSE.
A tri-city-based teacher, Bharti Bhatia said, “even if we don’t consider the two wrongly framed questions, still the paper was quite difficult and lengthy. The students prepared well for the same will be able to score well.”
