NOIDA- Maharashtra HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) and SSC (Secondary School Certificate) exams 2019 witnessed most instances of unethical practice and cheating from Aurangabad and Latur districts. However, there were no major incidents of unfair practice reported.
The number of students who took HSC and SSC examinations in Maharashtra this year touched 14.91 Lakh and 17 Lakh respectively. Out of total 230 cases of cheating instances during HSC exam, 83 were reported from Aurangabad division while Latur division reported 51.
In a similar way, 153 cases of unfair practice were reported from Aurangabad division flowed by 25 cases in Nagpur and 20 in Latur division. On the other hand, the class Xth exam i.e. MH SSC 2019 witnessed the maximum number of cheating cases, which is 366.
As per an official from MSBSHE, “this year our flying squads and vigilance teams strived hard to conduct the examination in a cheating-less environment.”
In both SSC and HSC exams, the maximum students were caught cheating in the Science and Mathematics exam as per the board officials. Aurangabad and Latur divisions saw the maximum cheating instances in both of these examinations. Moreover, Aurangabad was marked as the only division where the cheating cases during Class XII psychology (5) and Sanskrit (4) exams were reported.
According to board officials, there were minimal cheating instances in language papers. This year’s examinations remained unaffected by any incident of paper leak before the exam on social media or WhatsApp, unlike the previous year. However, there were two exceptions that the question papers of two SSC exams were leaked in Bhiwandi, Mumbai.
