Anna University Former Professor found Dead Suspiciously – On October 3, 2018, the former professor of Anna University was found dead at home in Thiruvanmiyur. As per the reports by Police, she was 59 year old and her name was Meera Asha Menon. She was from Kerala state and had quitted her job four years back from Anna University.
According to the statement given by the police after proper enquiry from the neighbours of the professor, “The victim was living all alone and suffering from high depression. She was a divorcee and none of her friends and relatives ever visited her house. It was always kept locked with the lady inside all the time.”
On the morning of 3rd October, some neighbours found something fishy when they felt bad smell coming from the house. They immediately called the police.
Thiruvanmiyur police visited the spot and found the professor dead on the bed. The body was in the state of decomposition. The case was lodged by the police and the dead body was sent to Royapettah hospital for the purpose of postmortem.
As per the police, it is quite clear from the condition of decomposed body that the professor is suspected to have died two days back.
The police has made inside out probing from the neighbours and tried to find out the facts of her death. They also registered their statements like mental depression condition of the professor and staying alone at home with no friends and relatives all around.
The case was transferred to the investigation team and the officer stated that there is no doubt about her death as the reason was natural cause. He further quoted that heart attack might be the cause of her death. However, the case will be properly examined by the team and the final decision will then be out.
