NEET 2017 UG Exam Pattern

The exam conducting authority of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared NEET  2017 Exam Pattern. All the candidates who wish to appear for the NEET 2017 UG are suggested to go through the exam pattern for the examination which will be conducted on 7th May 2017. It will help all the aspirants to get used to the nature of syllabus, the numbers of questions and marking scheme for the same.

NEET is conducted once every year in the month of May which is conducted through offline mode. The previously existing AIPMT exam was replaced by NEET exam in the year 2016 onwards. As per the last order released by Hon. Supreme Court, no other exam except NEET would be conducted in order for admission into BDS/MBBS courses in India from the year 2017. NEET 2017 UG Exam Pattern

The NEET UG 2017 exam would be conducted in offline mode (written exam) for a duration of 3 hours.  The question paper would consist of a total of 180 multiple choice questions. 4 marks would be given for every correct answer and 1 mark would be deducted for every incorrect answer. The question paper would be in both English or Hindi language. The NEET 2017 Exam Patter is given below:

    Details of NEET UG 2017 Exam Pattern

    Exam mode: The exam will be conducted in a written format (pen and paper based). Candidates have to tick mark their choices in the answer using a ball pen. All the required stationary products will be given to candidates inside the examination hall.

    The number of questionnaires: NEET UG 2017 question booklet will consist a total of 180 questions from all the 3 subjects. Physics and Chemistry section will consist of 45 questions each, while, Biology section (Zoology+Botany) will content 90 questions.

    Types of questions: NEET UG 2017 question paper will have objective type questions only, each question will consist of 4 choices, candidates will choose the most appropriate answer from the given options by tick marking it. NEET syllabus based questions will be asked in the examination.

    Exam Duration: NEET UG 2017 examination will be of 3 hours.

    Language: NEET 2017 question paper will be conducted in 8 vernacular languages apart from English and Hindi. Candidates can choose their language in which they find easy to apply in the examination of NEET 2017 UG while filling up the online application form.

    1. Assamese
    2. Bengali
    3. Gujarati
    4. Marathi
    5. Tamil
    6. Telugu
    7. Oriya
    8. Kannada

    NEET 2017 UG Marking Scheme

    Marking scheme of NEET 2017 UG examination is mentioned below:

    1. The question paper will be a total of 720 marks (max).
    2. Each question will contain four marks
    3. 4 marks will be given for each correct answer.
    4. There will be negative marking in this examination (-1 mark for each wrong answer)
    5. 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.
    6. Candidates can use only BLUE ball pen or BLACK ball pen to tick mark their answers.
    7. Candidates note down multiple answers for one question will lead to the negative marking.
