Commenting on the schedule of UP Board Examination, Sharma said that the schedule was formulated this way due to the Kumbh Mela that is going to take place from 15th January to 4th March 2019 on the bank of Sangam in Allahabad. Therefore, the short duration of board exam would not only relieve the strain of the examinees of a drawn-out schedule but also help the board to save time and funds.
The exam schedule of UP Board got lessened to 14 and 16 days respectively as there will be one paper for each subject presently. Further, Sharma added that with the introduction of NCERT pattern having one paper in English, one for Hindi, Mathematics, and Science has reduced the number of days for board examination.
In addition to all above, Sharma further added that the papers were associated together in order to establish the equality with other educational boards in the country such as CBSE, ICSE etc. Moreover, talking about the schedule of the preceding year of UP board, he said that the board examination of both 10th and 12th was started on February 6 and ended on February 22 of class 10 and March 12 of class 12.
