Masters of Management Studies -MMS Course Details

Masters of Management Studies popularly known as MMS Course is a postgraduate programme in management studies affiliated by the University of Mumbai. The course spreads over four semesters over a period of two years. The programme provides an insight into the core as well as specialised subjects in management. The first year consists of 2 semesters which are designed for understanding the basic principles of business and the second year emphasises on the core as well as special subjects such as marketing, finance, human resources and operations. This programme is much more same as other professional management courses like MBA or PGDM. This course will help the students to gain adequate knowledge and practical skills in the candidate to plan and optimise resources for maximum productivity. Students have to undertake two months summer internship with any organisation after the completion of the first year and complete a live project. This summer internship is an amazing opportunity to unite academic concepts with live practical situations.

MMS Course Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are eligible for the examination only if they satisfy following condition:

  • Applicants must have passed in Bachelor’s degree of the minimum on or before 31st July from a recognised University to apply for the admission.
  • Applicant must have scored at least 45% of aggregate marks in graduation to apply for the admission (40% % in case of backwards class candidate from Maharashtra State only)
  • Applicant should have passed in Common Entrance Test which is conducted by the Competent Authorities designated by the State Government as the sole authority calling for applications and effecting admissions through the Common Entrance Test.

    The Salary packages of MMS graduates may vary according to the Individuals performance and designation in the Job. For Fresh Candidates, the Salary Packages may fall with Rs 10.5 Lakh per annum in top level companies. The Salary Package may fall within Rs 8-10 per annum. By Gaining a minimum of 5-year experience an experienced management professional can earn up to Rs 18 Lakh per annum.
