CLAT 2019 is an online national law entrance test conducted to assess a student’s abilities in various sections i.e. Logical Reasoning, English, General Knowledge, Legal Aptitude, and Mathematics.     Detailed Information about CLAT Exam Pattern 2019

    The CLAT exam 2019 will be conducted online in the month of May 2019. The students must follow the exam pattern thoroughly so that they can manage their time properly during the final entrance test. The exam duration is 2 hours. Below is the detailed information about the LL.B and LL.M exam pattern;

    Exam Pattern for LL.B:

    For LLB there will be five (5) sections in LL.B CLAT exam. Following sections will test the abilities of students;

    1. General Knowledge
    2. Elementary Maths
    3. Legal Aptitude
    4. English
    5. Logical Reasoning

    Students will get 2 hours to complete all 200 questions of CLAT 2019. Here student must note that 1 mark will be given for every correct answer whereas 0.25 marks will be deducted as negative marking for every wrong answer. Below is the section wise break up for LLB exam.

    Exam Pattern for LL.M:

    NLU also conduct the exam for Post Graduates in LLM courses through CLAT 2019. The exam pattern is almost similar to LLB course. This LL.M CLAT 2019 exam paper will carry Multiple Choice Questions related mainly to Legal and Judiciary areas. Under this, the PG students need to attempt 150 questions of one mark each in 2 hours. Here also negative marking is 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. Follow the section-wise break up of LLM CLAT 2019 exam.

    Syllabus for CLAT 2019

    NLU will not release any prescribed the CLAT Syllabus 2019 for the undergrad and postgrad students. Although on the basis of previous exam papers and based on memory, CLAT sections are divided into English and reading comprehension, General Knowledge and recent national affairs, Elementary Mathematics up to class 10th, Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude sections.

    As far as PG course is concerned here syllabus is based on legal practices and terms. Generally, questions are asked from Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Torts, Contract, Criminal Law, Environmental Law, International Law and Human Rights.

    On the basis of memory and previous year question paper, LL.B syllabus for each subject based can be drawn as follows;

    English and Reading Comprehension

    1. English Proficiency– One word substitution, Phrases, and Idioms, Sentence Improvement, and rearrangement fill in the blanks and cloze test.
    2. Vocabulary- Composition of Synonyms and Antonyms
    3. Finding Errors– Spelling Mistakes, Spot inappropriate usage of words, correct word usage.
    4. Reading Comprehension– Topic paragraphs and related questions.
