The exam is conducted by KPPGCA (Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges’ Association) on behalf of the Government of Karnataka.
The KMAT scores are used for admission to MBA, PGDM and MCA programmes in more than 169 colleges in Karnataka.
Students are admitted on the basis of an entrance test and marks secured in the qualifying exam. The test consists of objective type questions and contains different papers for MBA/PGDM and MCA.
KMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have a graduation degree from any recognized university. Final year candidates can also apply. Students must have minimum 50% to attend the examination.
KMAT 2018 Selection Criteria
Candidates will be selected on the basis of KMAT scores, group discussion and personal interview.Candidates will get selected for the admission in the different colleges on the basis of merit list of KMAT.
With almost 200,000 applicants every year in the race to get a place in one of the top-tier business schools, the selection criteria is stiff and normally entails a national level examination, followed by an interview and group discussion.
KMAT 2018 Reservation
Colleges associated with KPPGA use KMAT scores to fill 50 % of their seats. The remaining seats are filled through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) which conducts the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) for the purpose.
No roaster (reservation of seats for various categories), however, is followed for admission through KMAT.

KMAT 2018 Application Form
The KMAT Application Form 2018 will be issued online via the KPPGCA. The following fields will have to be filled by you in the form.
- Name – Name of the candidate, as it appears in School Leaving Certificate.
- Nativity – Select Karnataka or Non-Karnataka. If you do not belong to Karnataka by birth or domicile, select the latter.
- Date of Birth – Enter DOB in the DD / MM / YY format.
- Category – Select appropriately from GM, SC, ST, OBC, PH, NRI, Ex-Ser, Others.
- Educational Qualification – Enter institution details and stream.
- Address – Enter the address.
- Test centre – Select preferred city where you wish to take the test.
- DD details.
