UPSC ESE 2019 – Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Engineering Service Examination which is a national level examination for candidates of engineering background. The candidates are recruited for various government departments such as civil, electrical, electronics, telecommunication, and Mechanical. The examination is divided into 3 recruitment stages: prelims, mains, and personal interview. First exam of the selection procedure is the prelims stage. Applicants, who qualify first stage, will be eligible to appear for the next stage which is mains exam. Those who qualify mains will move on to next stage of personal interview and so on. The notification for the UPSC ESE 2019 was released on the website of UPSC on September 26, 2018.  The submission of UPSC ESE application form 2019 began from 26 September 2018 and ended on October 22, 2018. UPSC ESE 2019: Application Procedure

The UPSC ESE Application procedure must be submitted by the candidates who want to pursue Engineering as a career option and also want to work in the public sector. The dates of the application submission are over. The application forms for the UPSC ESE 2019 released on 26 September 2018 and the last date to submit the form was till 22 October 2018. The form was submitted by the candidates through online mode.

    UPSC ESE 2019: Eligibility Criteria

    UPSC ESE Eligibility criteria are set by the Examination authority to ensure the qualification of the candidate. Only the candidates that fulfill the criteria will be called qualified to take part in the recruitment procedure. The eligibility criteria are as following:

    • Nationality: only the Indian citizens can take part in the recruitment event.
    • Age: minimum (21 years)- maximum (30 years)

    • Academic qualification: The candidate must be an engineer graduate in any branch from a recognized university or institute.
    • Medical examination: After qualifying the first two stages- prelims and mains, the candidate will go through medical examination.
    • Physical examination: After the medical examination, physical examination will be conducted. The qualifying candidates will move to the final round.

    UPSC ESE 2019: Admit Card

    The admit card of UPSC ESE 2019 exams are issued to the candidates a few week before the examination. The admit card of the prelims was issued on 12 December 2018. The dates of the release of the admit card of mains and interview are not notified yet. The notification for the admit card of mains and personal interview will release on the website of the Union Public Service Commission a few weeks before the exam. The candidates can download the admit card on and before the examination date from the website of the UPSC. It is advised to download the admit card as early as possible and keep it safe with the other necessary documents as it is mandatory to bring along the UPSC admit card 2019 to the examination hall. Those who fail to bring the admit card will not be permitted to appear for the UPSC ESE 2019 exam.

    UPSC ESE 2019: Selection Procedure

    Selection procedure of UPSC ESE 2019 is divided into three stages- prelims, mains and personal interview. The candidates will be qualified for the next round if they successfully clear prior round. Qualifying all the rounds consecutively is mandatory in order to get recruited for the job.

    UPSC ESE 2019: Syllabus & Exam Pattern

    The syllabus of the candidates will be in accordance with their relevant branch of engineering. Other than that, general knowledge and awareness questions are asked in the first stage of the exam.

    Candidates refer to the exam pattern to get familiar with the question paper, and the level of performance required in completing the question paper within the scheduled time. The exam pattern of the prelims and mains of UPSC ESE 2019 are mentioned below in the tabular form.

    • There is negative marking in the exam. For every wrong answer, 0.33 marks will be subtracted out of the total.
    • Each correct answer carries 2 marks in the prelims exam.

    UPSC ESE 2019: Result & Cutoff

    The result of the prelims exam was released on 28 February 2019 on the website of the UPSC. The result is released in the PDF format. The candidates must download the PDF document from the website and check their roll number in the list. The name of the qualified students is displayed in the list. The qualified students will appear in the mains exam which is on 30th June 2019. The result of the mains exam will be announced in the month of August 2019. Those who qualify the mains exam will appear for the personal interview round. Personal interview round is the final round, on qualifying which, the candidate will be designated for the relevant post he/she had applied.

    The cutoff of UPSC ESE 2019 has not release yet. The candidates will be able to check the cutoff on the website of the Union Public Service Commission once it is officially released.  Previous year cutoff is mentioned below for the reference purpose.
