JEE Main 2018 is extremely popular engineering entrance exam in India which will be conducted by CBSE for admission to  B.Arch courses/B.E. & B.Tech. Candidates are admitted to NITs, CFTIs on the basis of JEE Main though IITs offer admission to these courses through JEE Advanced examination and other engineering institutions. CBSE has introduced some new changes like applicants should have Aadhaar card details for filling the application form. JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2018

JEE Main 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has introduced some new changes in JEE Mains. Following are the JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2018 changes:

  • Applicants should have Aadhaar card details for filling the application form.
  • Candidates who are from Meghalaya, J & K and Assam are excluded from the above provision. Such candidates have to enter bank account number, passport number, ration card number or any other valid Govt. identity number to get examination centre in these states only.

Qualification:

  • Applicants to qualify for admissions in IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs must have obtained a minimum of 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class exam organised by the respective Boards.
  • For reserved category, the minimum qualifying marks are 65% in the 12th class examination.
  • Candidates who have passed the higher secondary examination in 2016 and 2017 are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who are appearing currently for 12th class examination are also eligible to apply for JEE Main 2018.
  • Diploma holders are also eligible for JEE Main 2018 but are only eligible for admission to IITs.

Age:

  • Birth Certificate as mentioned in secondary education board certificate.
  • Candidates who were born on or after 01, October 1993 are eligible for JEE Main 2018.
  • Candidates from SC, ST and PWD category who were born on or after 01, October 1988 are eligible for JEE Main 2018.

Number of Attempts:

  • Candidates can appear for JEE Advanced Examination a maximum of 2 times in consecutive years.
  • The maximum attempt for JEE Main Examination is 3.

How to apply for JEE Main 2018 Application Form

All candidates should read the information brochure carefully to get details about how to apply, application fee & payment mode before filling the online application form of JEE Main 2018. Details regarding JEE Main 2018 Application form is provided below:

  •  Fill the JEE Main application form via online mode only.
  • No printed form will be provided for JEE Main.
  • The application form is expected to be released tentatively in the first week of December 2017.
  • Students should have Aadhaar Card Number and Registration Number which will be provided by facilitation centre to apply for JEE Main.
  • Candidates have to upload scanned images of photograph and signature in prescribed specifications in addition to filling personal & academic details.
  • Candidates can download the acknowledgement page after successfully submitting the Application form as a proof.

Application Fee

Candidates Application form will be considered only after he pays the required fee.               For payment of application fee candidates must use only recommended modes of payment.

Application Form Correction

  • Corrections can be done on uploaded images (signature and photograph).
  • Correction can also be done in application form like a change in exam mode from PBT to CBT, the city of examination, change in paper-2 to paper-1.
  • Correction can be done in the selected fields only.

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2018 will provide details about subjects covered, the number of questions, marking scheme, etc.  This exam is conducted in two different papers. Exam structure for both the papers are given below:

For JEE Main Paper-1:

How to Prepare for JEE Main 2018

JEE Main 2018 Answer Key

The Answer key of JEE Main will be provided by the concerned authority CBSE for both the papers after the completion of the exam. The answer key will help the candidates in cross-checking their answers, with what they have selected in the actual exam.

JEE Main Results 2018

JEE Main 2018 Result

JEE Main result 2018 will be declared tentatively in the month of April 2018 by the CBSE. The result will be declared online on the official website. Candidates can check their result for JEE Main 2018 online. Merit list will be made only on the basis of JEE Main Score of the candidates.

On basis of JEE Main result, 2018 result candidates can appear in JEE Advanced. Candidates cannot appear in JEE Advanced until they clear JEE Main. Link For checking JEE Main 2018 result will be provided here soon.

Score Card

JEE Main 2018 score card will be issued to the candidates after the release of result. The scorecard includes candidate’s final scores and their JEE MAIN 2018 All India rank.

Cut-Off marks

  • The minimum score for admissions is the cutoffs.
  • The cutoffs differ from institute to institute as well as the courses as the admissions are held through JoSAA.
  • The cutoffs for the year 2018 will be available after the result is declared.
  • JEE Main 2017 cutoffs can be used by candidates to understand the scores that are needed for admissions in the preferred institute.

JEE Main 2018 Counselling procedure

After the declaration of JEE Main 2018 results, the candidates will be selected for counselling on the basis of merit list. The counselling will tentatively start from 1st week of July 2018. Counselling procedure will be conducted by CSAB and JoSAA. There will be 4 rounds of counselling the 1st 3 rounds will be held by JoSAA and the last & final round will be held by CSAB. The entire counselling process will completely be online based.

JEE Main 2018 Participating Institutes

For JEE Main 2018 around 92 institutes including 22, ISM, IITs, 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 18 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) will participate under JoSAA 2018.
