JEE Main 2018

JEE Main 2018 official notification was released by CBSE on 22nd November 2017. The online applications for the exam was available on the official website from 1st December 2017. The last date to apply for the exam was 1st January 2018. This National level Engineering Entrance Exam is conducted by CBSE every year for offer admissions to the aspiring candidates in B.E/B.Tech & B.Arch/B.Plan Courses. CBSE will conduct the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination ) Main 2018 via online and offline modes for admissions of candidates in NITs (National Institute of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) and other (CFTs) Centrally Funded Technically Institutions across India. 11.64 Lac students have applied for JEE Main exam for 2018. JEE Main 2018 is a gateway exam for JEE advanced 2018. The admit card for the exam was released on the official website by the board on 12th March 2018. The admit cards are available online on the website for download. Candidates who will successfully qualify the JEE Advanced 2018 will be eligible for admissions in 23 IITs. Students who will crack the JEE Advanced exam will get admissions in IITs and ISM.

    How to Download JEE Main 2018 Admit Card?

    The JEE Main 2018 admit card is available for all registered candidates in online for download. You can download your Admit Card by following the steps given below:

    • Click on the JEE Main 2018 admit card download link
    • Enter your JEE Main 2018 application number, password and security pin
    • Click on “Submit” button
    • You will be redirected to the admit card window
    • We advise all the candidates to check for errors in any of the details in the admit card before downloading
    • In case of any discrepancy, the candidates can report immediately to the JEE Main Secretariat
    • Take a printout of the admit card for future reference

    JEE Main 2018- Exam Pattern

    JEE Main Exam Pattern 2018 will provide details about subjects covered, the number of questions, marking scheme, etc.  This exam is conducted in two different papers. Exam structure for both the papers are given below:

    Paper-1:

    Course B.E./B.Tech courses.
    Exam Mode Offline (PBT) & Online (CBT) as preferred by candidates.
    Subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
    Number of Questions 30 questions from every subjects a total of 360 marks.
    Type of Questions Objective type.
    Language English, Hindi and Gujarati.
    Exam Duration 3 hours.
    Marking Scheme +4 marks for each correct answer.
    Negative Marking -1 mark for each wrong answer.

     

    Paper-2:

    Course B.Arch/B.Planning courses.
    Exam Mode Offline (PBT) mode.
    Subjects Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing.
    Number of Questions 30 questions from Mathematics, 50 questions from aptitude test and 2 from drawing a total of 390 marks.
    Type of Questions Objective and Subjective both.
    Language English, Hindi and Gujarati.
    Exam Duration 3 hours.
    Marking Scheme +4 marks for each correct answer.
    Negative Marking -1 mark for each wrong answer.

    How to Prepare for JEE Main 2018

    JEE Main Preparation Tip for scoring well in the examination are provided below:

    JEE Main 2018 Answer Key

    The JEE Main 2018 Answer Key will be provided from 24th April to 27th April 2018 by the concerned authority CBSE for both the papers after the completion of the exam. The answer key will help the candidates in cross-checking their answers, with what they have selected in the actual exam.

    JEE Main 2018 Result

    JEE Main result 2018 will be declared on 30th April 2018 for offline exam, and on 31st May 2018 by the CBSE. The result will be declared online on the official website.

    Candidates can check their result for JEE Main 2018 online. Merit list will be made only on the basis of JEE Main Score of the candidates.

    On basis of JEE Main result, 2018 result candidates can appear in JEE Advanced. Candidates cannot appear in JEE Advanced until they clear JEE Main. Link For checking JEE Main 2018 result will be provided here soon.

    Score Card

    JEE Main 2018 scorecard will be issued to the candidates after the release of result. The scorecard includes candidate’s final scores and their JEE MAIN 2018 All India rank.

    Cut-Off marks

    • The minimum score for admissions is the cutoffs.
    • The cutoffs differ from institute to institute as well as the courses as the admissions are held through JOSAA.
    • The cutoffs for the year 2018 will be available after the result is declared.
    • JEE Main 2018 cutoffs can be used by candidates to understand the scores that are needed for admissions in the preferred institute.

    JEE Main 2018 Counselling procedure

    After the declaration of JEE Main 2018 results, you will be selected for counselling on the basis of merit list.

    The counselling will tentatively start from 1st week of July 2018. Counselling procedure will be conducted by CSAB and JOSAA.

    There will be 4 rounds of counselling the 1st 3 rounds will be held by JOSAA and the last & final round will be held by CSAB. The entire counselling process will completely be online based.

    Application Form

    All candidates should read the information brochure carefully to get details about how to apply, application fee & payment mode before filling the online application form of JEE Main 2018.

    JEE Main 2018 Application Form was available from 1st December 2017. Details regarding JEE Main 2018 Application form is provided below:

    • The JEE Main application form was available for the candidates in online mode
    • To fill the application form, a candidate must visit the official website of JEE Main Registration
    • The application form was released on 1st December 2017
    • You must obtain an Aadhaar Card Number and Registration Number which will be provided by facilitation center to apply for JEE Main
    • You will be asked to upload scanned images of photograph and signature in prescribed specifications in addition to filling personal & academic details.
    • Candidates can download the acknowledgement page after successfully submitting the Application form as a proof.

    Application Form Correction

    • Corrections was to be done on uploaded images (signature and photograph).
    • Correction was also possible for application form, like a change in exam mode from PBT to CBT, the city of examination, change in paper-2 to paper-1
    • Correction could be done in the selected fields only

    Eligibility Criteria

    The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has introduced some new changes in JEE Mains. Following are the JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2018 changes:

    • You must provide Aadhaar card details for filling the application form.
    • If you are an aspirant who is from Meghalaya, J & K or Assam, then you will be excluded from the above provision. You will be asked to enter bank account number, passport number, ration card number or any other valid Govt. identity number to get examination centre in these states only.

    Qualification:

    • Applicants to qualify for admissions in IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs must have obtained a minimum of 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class exam organised by the respective Boards.
    • For reserved category, the minimum qualifying marks are 65% in the 12th class examination.
    • Candidates who have passed the higher secondary examination in 2016 and 2017 are also eligible to apply.
    • Candidates who are appearing currently for 12th class examination are also eligible to apply for JEE Main 2018.
    • Diploma holders are also eligible for JEE Main 2018 but are only eligible for admission to IITs.

    Age:

    • Birth Certificate as mentioned in secondary education board certificate.
    • you must have born on or after 01, October 1993 are eligible for JEE Main 2018.
    • Candidates from SC, ST and PWD category who were born on or after 01, October 1988 are eligible for JEE Main 2018.

    Number of Attempts:

    • Candidates can appear for JEE Advanced Examination a maximum of 2 times in consecutive years.
    • The maximum attempt for JEE Main Examination is 3. 

     

    JEE Main 2018 Participating Institutes

    For JEE Main 2018 around 92 institutes including 22, ISM, IITs, 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 18 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) will participate under JoSAA 2018.
