The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai was popularly known as UDCT. It’s one of the most sought after colleges for seats in engineering course among students. The MHRD rated ICT was rated as Number one deemed university with “A” grade and it’s the only one among the four in Maharashtra state the others being centrally funded TIFR, TISS and CIFE. The ICT has also been rated as Number One Institute by NIPU among 127 TEQIP funded Institutes all over India in October 2010.

The admission process for the academic year 2014-2015 was conducted via centralized admission process rounds. ICT has pretty simple admission process and if you follow these simple steps your admission in ICT will be complete.


Step 1: Purchase of Application Form.

The first step is to purchase the appropriate application form from the institute by paying the prescribed fees.

  • B.Chem.-B.Tech form for applying through AIEEE
  • B.Chem.-B.Tech form for applying through MHT-CET
  • B.Pharm. form (just one form for Pharmacy as there’s no AIEEE quota)

You can also download the forms from the official ICT official website and the mandatory fees would have to be paid at the time of submission of the form.

Step 2: Submission of Application form

Candidates need to fill in all their details in the application form ensuring that the form is completely filled. At the time of submission of form the candidate has to carry attested copies of the following documents along with the completed application form.

List of Documents:

  • SSC (Std. X) mark sheet
  • HSSC (Std. XII) mark sheet
  • School Leaving certificate after passing HSSC (Std. XII)
  • Certificate of Indian Nationality
  • MHT-CET 2011 score card/ AIEEE 2011 Score card
  • Caste certificate (if you’re applying through OBC/ST/SC

After a brief scanning of the form the person in concern will issue a small receipt which the candidate should retain as it would be needed at the time of admission. It is also advisable in “attempting “submission of the form at the least 3 days before the last date as almost 50% of applicants tend to forget something leading to an unsuccessful attempt in submission of the form

Step 3: Display of Merit List

Merit lists is the list of candidates who have managed to successfully apply to ICT ordered from the highest to lowest; though it doesn’t mean that the candidates have already been admitted. The candidate has to verify if the details have been displayed correctly and request for correction in case of discrepancies.


Step 4: Counseling Rounds

The candidate has to check when they are due to appear for counseling at the Institute. They will have to report at ICT along with all the original documents, set of attested documents, receipt of the application form and DD/Pay order of the prescribed. At the venue that candidates will be called in one by one in order of merit and offered whatever seats remain vacant at that point of time and the candidate has to decide whichever course they wish to opt for then and there and pay the fees. It’s advisable to secure admission in whatever field you are being offered in the subsequent rounds as students who are already admitted are given preference to change their branch before the new students are offered seats.
