IIT Bhubaneswar Ph.D. Admissions 2015 – The Indian Institute of Technology commonly known as IIT, Bhubaneshwar has commenced the admission process for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes for candidates in Institute Scholar, Sponsored Scholar, Project Scholar (Projects running at IIT Bhubaneswar) categories for the spring academic session 2015-2016 and is thus accepting applications via interested as well as eligible candidates to enroll for the same.

The eligibility criteria of any candidate depends on the educational qualification of the candidate.

Educational qualification:

Ph.D. (Engineering)

The candidates who is interested for this particular course must ensure that they must possess minimum 60 percent marks or 6.5 CGPA in M. Tech./M.E. or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with a  valid GATE score in the year of admission into the M. Tech. programme.

Or

Tech./B.E. or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with minimum 70 percent marks or 7.5 CGPA with a valid GATE score or having secured a UGC/CSIR-NET JRF.

Or

Minimum 60 percent marks or 6.5 CGPA in Master of Science or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with consistently good academic record and a valid GATE score or having secured a UGC/CSIR-NET JRF. Provisional certificate is acceptable.

Ph.D. (Basic Science)

Those candidates who are interested in applying for this course must ensure that they will have to score a minimum of 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA in the Masters or an equivalent degree from an appropriate discipline with a consistently good academic records.

Or

The candidates will have to score a minimum of 55% marks or a 6.0 CGPA in the Bachelor of Science or an equivalent degree in an appropriate discipline having a consistent as well as a good academic record.

or

The candidate must hold a science or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with consistently good academic record. Provisional certificate is acceptable.

Or

The candidate will have to score a minimum of 60 percent marks or 6.5 CGPA is required in all other examinations.

Ph.D. (Geoscience)

Those candidates who wish to apply for this course must ensure that they do possess a minimum of 60 percent marks or 6.5 CGPA in the Master’s or equivalent degree in Geology/Geophysics/Earth Science.

Or

Minimum 55 percent marks or 6.0 CGPA in the Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with consistently good academic record. Provisional certificate is acceptable.

Ph.D. (Climate Sciences)

Those candidates who wish to apply for this couses must ensure that they do possess a minimum of 60 percent marks or 6.5 CGPA in the Master’s or equivalent degree in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Marine Science/ Earth Science/ Mechanical/ Civil/ Electrical/ ECE/ Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing/ Computer Science.

Or

the candidates must score a minimum 55 percent marks or 6.0 CGPA in the Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in appropriate discipline with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. Provisional certificate is acceptable.

Ph.D. (HSS&M)

The candidates must possess minimum 55 percent marks or 6.0 CGPA in the Master’s degree in appropriate discipline. Provisional certificate is acceptable.

Or

Minimum 60 percent marks or 6.5 CGPA required in all other examinations.

The candidate must be UGC-NET qualified.
