After clearing the JEE main 2019 exam, lakhs of aspirants, will apply for the JOSAA consulting procedure to search for admission in various NITs, IITs and state universities/ colleges. Scholarship

All participating institutions that do not use the central seat allocation process will create their own rankings based on the performance in JEE main 2019 and other criteria that they have chosen. Only the All India rank (air) is used for admission via the Central seat allocation (CSAB)/Joint seat Assignment Authority (JOSAA) to NITs, IITs, CFITs, SFIS, and others, while other ranks serve for informational purposes.

    For all authorization-related procedures/queries, applicants are advised to refer to the website of JOSAA, Central seat Assignment (CSAB) or the affected State Government/Institute following the declaration of the ranks of JEE (main) – 2019. NTA does not maintain the letters/e-mails/grievances/RTI cases/legal procedures for authorization-related procedures/queries. The assignment of JEE main seats is done after the declaration of JEE Main and Advanced results. NTA (formerly CBSE) is only responsible for the execution and explanation of JEE main results. The data will be transferred to the seat assignment or the affected State Government/Institute for the allocation of seats and the approval procedure. IITs offer several academic programs for which admission based on JEE (Advanced) 2019. NITs, IIITs, and a few other GFITs offer academic programs for which approval is based on JEE main 2019 All India ranks (air).

    JEE Main 2019 Seat Allocation Process:

    Applicants will be provided with the admission on the basis of their choice and All India ranks of JEE (main) 2019 through a space allocation process which will be announced later. Candidates can make their decisions online for branches/programs and institutes in time.

    The documents are checked at the time of the seat assignment/approval. The purpose would be to review various records of identification, age, aptitude test, the status of entitlement, category and disability (if any) of the candidate. If it fails to produce the authentic documents, the candidate will not be considered for admission.

    Key Facts about JoSAA Seat Allotment

    • JOSAA is responsible for the management and regulation of the common seat assignment for admission to 100 institutions comprising of 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IITs and 23 GFITs
    • JEE Main 2019 Seat allotment is based solely on the merit and decisions taken by the candidates in JOSAA and CSAB.
    • As soon as the assigned seat is rejected, he may no longer take part in the further rounds of the consultation.
    • After the JOSAA seat allocation, the CSAB consultation takes place.
    • The CSAB holds a special round of consultations for the applicants who wish to be admitted to the open places in different NITs.
    • CSAB SFTI is a distinct consultation, which is held out for admission to 17 SFITs (self-financed technical facilities).
    • CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) is carried out for seats kept in the institutions permitted by AICTE in India and not enclosed by the CSAB for the Northeastern States and Union Territories.
    • All NITs apart from NIT Warangal, Birla Institute of Technology, MESRA and Indian Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology provide seats underneath the home state quota and another administration quota.
    • For the Assam University, candidates are under the home state quota and the entire India Quota
    • The final list of institutions that intake candidates in each course and category according to the reservation by JEE (main)-2019 is available on the website of the seat allocation in the month of May/June 2019.
    • Candidates are advised to be present at the assigned center for reviewing the documents by the officials and reserve a seat.
    • Payment of the fee for the seat allocation process has to be done on time.
    • Any application for admission or payment of the fee after the last date will not be considered.
    • Finally, a preliminary letter of approval is issued.
