SASTRA University B.Tech Admission 2019- Sastra University has released a rank list of candidates selected for admission 2019. The candidates whose name are listed in the rank list have to participate in the counselling process which is being conducted from 20 to 23 June 2019. The authorities for providing admission in the Sastra University will be releasing the status of final admission notification for stream 1 and stream 2 after the first round of counseling will be over. SASTRA University B.Tech Admission 2019 is based on the performance of the candidates in JEE Main 2019 and internal admission process of the university; both will be given 25% and 75% weightage respectively. The admission will be provided to the candidates based on two streams which are STREAM 1 (JEE Main 2019 and 12th Standard marks) for 70% seats and STREAM 2 (12th standard marks) for 30% of seats. For filling up the application form of SASTRA B.Tech Program of 2019 candidates need to follow the below instruction for filling up the application form:
Online Mode of filling up SASTRA B.Tech Application Form 2019
- The candidates need to register themselves before filling up the application form of SASTRA B.Tech 2019.
- Candidates need to fill up the registration form online
- Details like name, Email ID, Mobile Number, Date of Birth and application ID if asked need to fill up in the registration form and click the submit button for registration.
- After registration, the Email ID and password will be sent to the candidate’s Email address.
Application form filled up procedure
- The candidates need to search the application form page after the registration process is completed.
- When the application form is available candidates need to fill it up with required details.
- They should enter information like name, address, date of birth, nationality, religion, academic qualification, caste certificate, JEE Main score, and other important details.
- Next step after filling up the application form is that candidates should upload the scanned image of photo and signature in JPEG format.
- Then they should verify the application form and click the submit button

Eligibility Criteria for SASTRA University B.Tech Admission 2019
Candidates should qualify the 12th standard examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Also, they have to take one of the following subjects Chemistry/Computer Science/ Biotechnology/ Biology and should attain the qualification from a recognized State Board / Central Board or any other institutes accepted by SASTRA as equivalent to the 12th standard examination with a minimum of 60% marks in each of the subjects.
Candidates who have the qualification of Diploma in Engineering and Technology are entitled to lateral entry (direct admission to the second year) of the relevant B.Tech program.
The candidates should not be 19 years of age as on 1 July 2019. For lateral entry, the candidates must be 21 years of age.
SASTRA University B.Tech Admission 2019 Procedure
The admission in SASTRA University will be organized under two streams for providing SASTRA University B.Tech Admission 2019. The candidates need not submit two separate application forms as all the candidates will be eligible for both the stream. The application form will be considered for both the streams mentioned below.
Stream 1: The candidates will be based on JEE Main 2019 and 12th standard marks for 70% of the seats.
Stream 2: The candidates will be based on 12th standard marks for 30% of the seats.
STREAM 1 (JEE Main 2019 and 12th Standard marks) for 70% seats
The candidates who fall under Stream 1 will get the chance of 70% of the seats based on their JEE Main 2019 score and 12th standard mark sheet. The weightage is divided into two sections which are JEE Mains will be of 25% and the qualification of 12th will take 75%. JEE Main score and the 12th standard marks will be aggregated together as per the weightage and the candidates will be ranked according to the combined score.
STREAM 2 (12th standard marks) for 30% of seats
The candidates who fall under Stream 2 will attain the chance of 30% of the seats based on the 12th standard mark sheet. To make a general comparison of all the different examining authorities and to create a list based on merit the 12th examination result will be taken into consideration. The first rank holder for each board is considered to have attained 100% marks in the qualifying examination. The aggregate of all other candidates from the different board will be prioritized according to the first rank candidate. A merit list will be made accordingly to provide admission to 30% of seats.
Things to remember:
- Candidates will be allowed to take part in counselling procedures for stream 2, even if they are admitted under stream 1. Also, they can change the branch if they wish to.
- Candidates are advised to attach the score of JEE and the marks of 12th standard along with the relevant photocopies while submitting the application.
- Stream 1 and Stream 2 will be merged after the 2nd round counselling on the basis of vacancy of seats which will be through merit list.
Rank List of SASTRA University B.Tech Admission 2019
The rank list will be released separately for both Stream 1 and Stream 2 of SASTRA University. Candidates applying for stream 1 will release a rank list based on JEE Main 2019 score and 12th standard mark sheet for 70% of the seats. The rank list of the candidates applying for stream 2 will be based on 12th standard mark sheet for 30% of the seats. The candidates can check the rank list by providing the application number or date of birth. Candidates can raise the objection in the period of 48 hours if any discrepancy arises. The candidates need to send an email to the firstname.lastname@example.org by writing ‘Application Error’ in the subject line of the email.
Counselling for SASTRA University B.Tech Admission 2019
The counselling will be conducted for admission in SASTRA University for both the streams. The counselling for stream 1 is expected to be in the month of June. The candidates need to download and carry a copy of the counselling letter while checking for rank. The first level of counselling will be based on vacancy position.
