National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main Application Form 2019 from 1st September 2018 as per the predefined schedule and it will remain available till 30th September 2018. All the candidates are advised by NTA to read the instructions, information bulletin, and procedure carefully before filling the application form. The application form will be accepted online only on the official website of JEE Main. As per the latest notification released by NTA, Aadhaar Number is not mandatory to fill up the online application form of JEE Main 2019. The applicants can enter any valid government identity number while filling the JEE Main application form.
The aspirants who want to take up this exam in a centre in India need to pay Rs. 500 application fee for either of JEE (Main) Paper-1(B.E./B.Tech.) and JEE (Main) Paper-2 (B.Arch./B.Planning) whereas the application fee for both the papers is Rs. 900. The candidates who belong to SC/ST/PWD/ Transgender category along with the female candidates will have to pay Rs. 250 for one paper and Rs. 450 for both the papers.
On the other hand, the candidates who opt to appear for JEE Main 2019 at foreign locations need to submit Rs. 2000 as application fee for one paper and Rs. 3000 for both the papers. The candidates from SC/ST/PWD/ Transgender category and female candidates will be given an exemption of 50% in application fee and for them, the fee will Rs. 1000 for one paper and Rs. 1500 for two papers.
The application fee can be paid through SBI MOPS only. It means the applicants can pay using the Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit of any bank. But the e-challan should be deposited through any of the designated branches of State Bank of India.
NTA has kept the application form quite simpler this year. It’s just a 3-step application form wherein the first step is to click on the ‘Apply for JEE Main 2019’. Now the page will display the instructions and information bulletin. Read the same carefully and hit the ‘PROCEED TO APPLY ONLINE’ button after checking the disclaimer saying ‘I have downloaded Information Bulletin, read and understood all the instructions’.
Now the 3-step JEE Main Application Form 2019 will appear. The first step is to fill the authentication form with details like state of eligibility, select identification ID type (Aadhar Card, voter ID card, Passport etc.), identification ID number, name & date of birth (as per matriculation certificate), gender, security PIN, captcha, and hit the submit button.
The second step is to upload the documents i.e. recent passport size photograph and signature of the candidates. The scanned photograph and signature should be in the JPEG/ JPG format and the size of the photograph and signature should be between 10 kb to 200 kb and 4 kb to 30 kb respectively.
The candidates will not be given the facility to correct the uploaded photograph and signature later while correction. Hence, the candidates should follow the guidelines to upload the images correctly. Uploading the wrong image or photograph may lead to cancellation of their application form by the authority.
The aspirants also need to be careful while setting a password for JEE Main 2019 login. The password should be 8 to 13 characters long with at least one upper case alphabet. The one lower case alphabet at least should also exist in the password. Also, one numeric value (from 0 to 9) and one special character (!@#$%^&*-) should also be present in the password. The password can be changed multiple times by the candidates later.
