Hon’ble Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar has announced while addressing a presss conference in New Delhi that JEE Main 2019 will be conducted twice in a year by NTA (National Testing Agency). He added that the newly formed apex body i.e. NTA will replace CBSE to conduct all the exams which were conducted by CBSE earlier. These exams include JEE Main, UGC-NET, NEET, and CMAT & GPAT. From now onwards these exam will be conducted twice in a year.
In this press conference, the HRD minister also introduced the changes in the format of NTA-conducted examinations. JEE Main 2019 applicants will get a window of 4-5 days to select their desired date to appear in the exam within that slot. The slots will be allotted on ‘First Come, First Serve’ basis. The exam pattern and syllabus of JEE Main 2019 will remain the same like previous years. Moreover, the concerned ministry will also designate computer centers in different cities where students can prepare 4 months before the JEE Main 2019 exam without paying any charges.
The existing budget of Rs. 1800 crores for disbursing education loans and subsidies by the government will keep on accelerating every year. Also, the JEE Main 2019 and the other exams to be held under the flagship of NTA will be given recognition as international-level examinations. Government will take care of eliminating the possibility of bad instances such as paper leak. According to the press release by national testing Agency, the JEE Main 2019 exam will be conducted in the months of January 2019 and April 2019.
The application forms for JEE Main January 2019 will be made available from 1 September 2018 to 30 September 2018. JEE Main 2019 January exam will be conducted in 8 sittings from 6 January 2019 to 20th January 2019. The candidates can choose their desired sitting to take this exam. NTA is expected to release the result of JEE Main January 2019 in the 1st week of February 2019.
The conducting authority has also released the schedule for the events of JEE Main April 2019. NTA will release the application forms for JEE Main April 2019 from the 2nd week of February 2019, most probably. The dates of JEE Main April 2019 exam will fall between 12th May 2019 to 26 May 2019 in 8 different sittings wherein the candidates can choose their desired date to appear in the exam within this slot.
National Testing Agency was commenced with the approval of union cabinet as CBSE and AICTE are already overloaded with the pressure of exam conductions at other different levels. Government allotted an extravagant budget of Rs. 25 Crores initially so that the NTA can smoothen its operations under Ministry of Human Resource Development. The agency will become self-sustainable as the time will progress.
NTA is allowed act as an autonomous body and the former CBSE Chairperson & Secretary Mr. Vineet Joshi has been deputed as the director general of the National Testing Agency. CBSE has handed over the JEE Main exam related data to NTA and it will enable NAT to access previous records for their reference. The JEE Main aspirants must be baffled with this change; but this change is for good. As the exam pattern and syllabus will remain the same; hence, the students don’t need to change their study plan. In fact, the students who can’t make their place in first attempt will get second opportunity in the same year to appear for JEE Main 2019.
All the best to all JEE Main 2019 aspirants!
