KCET Seats Reservation 2019– Karnataka Examination Authority KEA) conducts the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET 2019) for providing admission in various undergraduate courses in technical and engineering courses. The mode of exam is offline i.e., the candidates need to bring a pen with blue and black ink for the exam. Karnataka Examination Authority retains some seat for providing admission to the other reserved categories as per KCET Seats Reservation 2019. The reserved seats are available only for candidates fall under special category which includes Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) of citizens under categories 1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, physically disabled, defence categories. The special category candidates must produce Caste Certificate/Caste Income Certificate issued by the concerned Jurisdictional Tahsildar while verification of documents to avail the benefits of the KCET Seats Reservation 2019.     Category of KCET Seats Reservation 2019

    KCET Seats Reservation 2019 is relevant and appropriate to the candidates belonging from the special categories such as Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) of citizen who fall under 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B. Only the candidates of Karnataka origin can claim for the reservation. A brief understanding of the category wise reservation of seats is a narrated in the table below.

    Special Category in KCET Seats Reservation 2019

    The KCET Seats Reservation 2019 has certain special category such as N.C.C, Scouts and Guides, Physically Handicapped, Sports, Defence, Anglo Indian, Ex- Defence, Central Armed Police Force and Ex- Central Armed Police Force.

    N.C.C.

    The conditions of KCET Seats Reservation 2019 for N.C.C. Special Category are as follows:

    1. Candidates who were the participants in the Republic Day Camp organized by the Director General of NCC, New Delhi who acquired ‘B’ Certificate from Karnataka between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study.
    2. Candidates who were the participants in the camps mentioned below, organized by the Director General of NCC, New Delhi who acquired ‘B’ Certificate from Karnataka between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study.
      1. All India Thal Sainik Camp (Boys) – TSC (B)
      2. All India Thal Sainik Camp (Girls) – TSC (G)
      3. All India Nau Sainik Camp – NSC
      4. All India Vayu Sainik Camp – VSC
      5. The shortlisted cadets selected to be a part of DG, NCC team for joining the National Level -All India Movalankar Shooting Championship, Foreign Naval Cruise and Youth Exchange Programmes conducted by DG, NCC.
    3. Candidates who were the participants in the camps mentioned below, organized by the Director General of NCC, New Delhi who acquired ‘B’ Certificate from Karnataka between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study.
      1. All India Thal Sainik Camp (Boys) – TSC (B)
      2. All India Thal Sainik Camp (Girls) – TSC (G)

      5. The cadets who take part in All India Movalankar Shooting Championship as a part of KAR and GOA Director Team and the cadets should accomplish Mountaineering Expeditions (over 5900 Mtrs.), Motor Cycle Expeditions (over 3500 Kms) Sailing Expeditions using only wind power (401 Kms) and cycling Expeditions (over 1500 Kms) conducted by DG, NCC/NCC Director general of Karnataka & Goa.
    4. Candidates who were the participants in the camps mentioned below, organized by the Director General of NCC, New Delhi who acquired ‘B’ Certificate from Karnataka between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study.

      2. Trekking
      3. Mountaineering
      4. BLC
      5. ALC
      6. RCTC
      7. Army, Navy, Air Force & Hospital Attachments
    5. Candidates who acquired ‘B’ Certificate from Karnataka between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study. The favorable benchmark for attaining the NCC category reserved seat are mentioned below:
      1. ‘B’ Certificate acquired candidates and awarded All India Best Cadet with Gold/ Silver/ Bronze medal in the Republic Day camp.
      2. ‘B’ Certificate acquired candidates and awarded All India Best Cadet with Gold/ Silver/ Bronze medal in the camps mentioned at (a) to (e) of sub-clause (2) above.
      3. ‘B’ Certificate acquired candidates took part in Foreign naval Cruise and Youth Exchange programmes conducted by DG, NCC.
      4. ‘B’ Certificate acquired candidates took part in Republic Day Camp from Karnataka.
      5. ‘B’ Certificate acquired candidates took part in camps mentioned above in (a) to (e) of sub-clause (3) from Karnataka.
      6. ‘B’ Certificate acquired candidates took part in the cycling/motorcycle/sailing/ mountaineering organized by DG NCC / NCC Directorate of KAR and GOA.
      7. ‘B’ Certificate acquired candidates took part in the sub-clause (4) camps which is mentioned above.
      8. Candidates acquiring ONLY ‘B’ Certificate (Candidates of NCC acquiring only ‘B’ certificates).

    Important Note for Selection Criteria

    The candidates which are considered in the sub clause (1) and (2) will be preferred in the sequence of Gold medal winners then Silver medalist and then Bronze medal winners under the respective sub-clauses.

    The Director of NCC or the NCC Authorized nominee shall be present in the Karnataka Examination Authority on the days appointed along with the list of NCC eligible candidates in the sequence of preference like the selection of candidates to be assisted by 1 to 7 under NCC special categories.

    Sports

    The conditions of KCET Seats Reservation 2019 for Sports Special Category are as follows:

    1. The candidates acquired medals/cups and represented the nation in SUPER-A Games between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study in Karnataka.
    2. The candidates acquired medals/cups and represented the nation in ‘A-Games’ between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study in Karnataka.
    3. The Candidates represented Karnataka state and acquired medals/cups in ‘B-Games’ and took part in SUPER-A Games and A-Games between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study in Karnataka.
    4. The Candidates achieved medals/cups and represented Karnataka in ‘B-Games’ between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study in Karnataka.
    5. The Candidates in any sports / games in ‘BGames’ represented Karnataka state between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study in Karnataka.

    Important Note for Selection Criteria

    The candidates belonging from sports category will be selected as per the sequence of sub-clause (1), then candidates who belong to sub-clause (2), then the candidates belong from sub-clause (3), after that the sub-clause (4) will be considered fourth, and the candidates who belong to sub-clause (5) will be considered fifth.

    The candidates of the sub-clauses (1), (2), (3), and (4) while considering will be selected by sequence of gold medalist first, then silver medal winners will be preferred next, and after that the preference of bronze medal winners, beneath the respective sub-clauses, irrespective of the medal numbers.

    The Commissioner for Youth Services and Sports or the authorized nominee of the Youth Services and Sports along with the list of eligible candidates shall be present in Karnataka Examination Authority for assisting the selection procedure under Sports Category. Also, the decision of The Commissioner for Youth Services and Sports or the authorized nominee of Youth Services and Sports is the final decision for candidate’s eligibility under the category of Sports. Moreover, KEA will not be accountable in this regard.

    Scouts & Guides

    The conditions of KCET Seats Reservation 2019 for Scouts and Guides Special Category are as follows:

    1. As Scouts/Guides the candidates who obtained the ‘President’s Award’ between 8th and 12th standards in the duration of five years of study in Karnataka.
    2. The candidates who obtained the ‘President’s Award’ must produce the certificate during documents verification with other certificates.

    Important Note for Selection Criteria

    The consideration of allotment of seats of the candidates included in Scouts and Guides will be as per merit base only in the General Admission Round of allocation of seats together with General Merit and Reserved Category candidates.

    Children of Defence Personnel

    The conditions of KCET Seats Reservation 2019 for Defence Special Category are as follows:

    1. The Defence certificates in the prescribed format should be obtained by the children of Defence Personnel falling under eligibility clauses (e), (f) and (g). Failing of such will tend to prohibit for verification of certificates and subsequent allocation of seats under Defence category.
    2. The certificate of employment issued by the Controlling Office in the prescribed format where the parent/guardian is working must be produced by the candidates under Eligibility Clause (e) stipulating the time frame which the parent had worked in Karnataka.
    3. The certificate from the Record office of the Defence Unit in the prescribed format must be produced by the Candidates who declare falling under Eligibility Clause (f) indicating that the parents/guardians at the time of joining the service had declared a place as his hometown in Karnataka.
    4. Candidates who declare falling under Eligibility Clause (g) must provide the certificate from Controlling Office in the prescribed format stipulating the time frame which the parent had worked in Karnataka, the current place of posting and the family is permitted to stay put in Karnataka.
    5. The purpose of Defence Personnel of these Eligibility Clauses indicates that the person in Defence Service including Personnel belonging to Civil GT COYS ASC and Border Roads Organizations Personnel.

    Important Note for Selection Criteria

    For allotment of the children of the Defence Personnel, 10 % of the seats shall be reserved horizontally from among the total seats reserved for Defence Personnels of Karnataka Origin.

    The consideration of allotment of seats of the candidates included in Defence will be as per merit base only in the General Admission Round of allocation of seats together with General Merit and Reserved Category candidates.

    Children of Ex-Defence Personnel

    The conditions of KCET Seats Reservation 2019 for Ex-Defence Special Category are as follows:

    1. The certificate of home address of the parent issued by the Joint Director/Deputy Director of the concerned district, and countersigned by the Director, Department of Sainik Welfare and Resettlement, Bangalore by the children of Ex-Servicemen falling under Eligibility Clause (h). Failing of such will tend to prohibit for verification of certificates and subsequent allocation of seats under Ex-Defence category.
    2. The purpose of Ex-Servicemen of these Eligibility Clauses indicates that the person in Defence Service including Personnel belonging to Civil GT COYS ASC who were Class III or Class IV Government Servants who became permanently physically challenged or killed during conflict.

    Important Note for Selection Criteria

    The consideration of allotment of seats of the candidates included in Ex-Defence will be as per merit base only in the General Admission Round of allocation of seats together with General Merit and Reserved Category candidates.

    Physically Handicapped

    The conditions of KCET Seats Reservation 2019 for Ex-Defence Special Category are as follows:

    1. The Physically Challenged candidates who declare reservation under Physically Handicapped category will need to appear for Medical examination before a committee consisting of Executive Director, KEA as Chairman and three experts form the Department of Orthopedics, ENT and Ophthalmology, nominated by the Government.
    2. The physically challenged candidates which have the range of 40% above need to provide a Medical Certificate on the day of Medical examination, issued by the Doctor of any Government Hospital situated in Karnataka state in the sphere of concerned disability.
    3. The Physically challenged candidates who suffer from hearing disability must acquire and provide BSER (Brain Stem Evoked Response) Audiometry report from All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore / Manipal Hospital / NIMHANS, Bangalore / Government Speech and Hearing Institute, Lingarajapuram, Bangalore.
    4. The candidate and certificate regarding the percentage of disability will be scrutinized by the Medical Board and the Medical Board decision is concluding.
    5. The meaning of persons with disability for the purpose of this reservation shall have the same meaning which is assigned to Persons with Disabilities (Equal opportunities, Protection of Rights and Participation) Act 1995 (Central Act 1/1995).

    Important Note for Selection Criteria

    The Physically challenged candidates with disability range below 40% will be ineligible for claiming a seat under Physically Disabled category.

    The Physically challenged candidates will be ineligible to be considered for seat allocation under Physically Disabled category who fail to appear before the Medical Examination Committee. 

    ANGLO-INDIAN

    The conditions of KCET Seats Reservation 2019 for Ex-Defence Special Category are as follows:

    1. Candidates of Anglo-Indian community must be issued certificate by the Anglo- Indian community’s Registered Association in the Karnataka state and it must be counter-signed by the MLA Nominated by the Indian government. If a candidate would fail to get the sign certificate he/she wouldn’t be allowed to get the allotted seat under the Anglo- Indian seat reservation

    Important Note for Selection Criteria

    Those candidates belonging to the Anglo-Indian category, seats would be allocated on the basis of their merit list only while allotting seats in the General Admission Round with the Reserved Category and General Merit.

    Central Armed Police Force

    The conditions of KCET Seats Reservation 2019 for Ex-Defence Special Category are as follows:

    1. Students who want to get admission under Eligibility Clause (o) would require to get a certificate issued from the CAPF Unit’s Record Office in proper format specifying that the candidate’s parent have claimed to be the resident of a place in Karnataka as his native hometown during the time of joining the service.

    Important Note for Selection Criteria

    The consideration of allotment of seats of the candidates included in Central Armed Police Force will be as per merit base only in the General Admission Round of allocation of seats together with General Merit and Reserved Category candidates.

    Ex-Central Armed Police Force

    Reservation conditions for Ex-Central Armed Police Force Special Category are as follows:

    1. Students who want to get admission under Eligibility Clause (o) would require to get a certificate issued from the CAPF Unit’s Record Office in proper format specifying that the candidate’s parent have claimed to be the resident of a place in Karnataka as his native hometown during the time of joining the service.
