JEE Main Reservation of Seats 2019- NTA has revised the policy for the JEE Main reservation of seats 2019 as per the new reservation policy has been applied by the government of India. The new reservation policy says the students from general categories whose parents fulfil the per year income criteria are also eligible to get 10% reservation in the seat. JEE Main reservation of seats 2019has been defined along with the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2019 in the official notification for the exam. The official notification of the exam has been released in the month of November 2018. Formerly, the JEE Main exam was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. From 2019 the JEE Main exam conducting authority has been shifted to the National Testing Agency (NTA) by the government of India. The eligibility criteria along with the seat reservation criteria will be released by NTA for JEE Main 2019. JEE Main reservation of seats 2019 will be applicable for the candidates belonging to the SC ST, PWD, OBC, and economically weak general categories. The candidates belonging to these categories will have certain advantages. These advantages will be in terms of qualifying scores, seat allocation, and in official cut off. Other parameters in terms of admissions will be also included in the seat reservation criteria. These parameters will be related to state quota and home quota. Candidates belonging to the categories mentioned above must know that they will need to produce necessary documents as proof of their reservation in their selected categories.

JEE Main Reservation of Seats 2019

    The reservation of seats for JEE Main 2019 will be released by NTA along with the release of eligibility criteria for the exam. The seat reservations will be for the candidates belonging to the following categories:

    • General category (Economically weaker section only)
    • Schedule Tribe
    • Schedule Caste
    • Other Backward Class
    • A person with Disability (with 40% or more disability)
    • Women candidates
    • Home state candidates

    The candidates belonging to these categories will have certain advantages. These advantages will be in terms of qualifying scores, seat allocation, and an official cut off. Other parameters in terms of admissions will be also included in the seat reservation criteria. These parameters will be related to state quota and home quota. Candidates belonging to the categories mentioned above must know that they will need to produce necessary documents as proof of their reservation in their selected categories.

    JEE Main Reservation of Seats 2019: Salient features

    • The National Testing Agency will follow the rules prescribed by the government of India for allocation of seats based on the scores secured by candidates in JEE Main.
    • Candidates must know that for admissions in NITs/ IIITs and GFTIs, the benefits of the reservation will be given to only those categories that will be published by the government of India in the central list, respectively.
    • The state engineering colleges will not entertain any letters or emails from the candidates regarding the reservation criteria. These colleges will apply the reservation rules of the state while offering admissions to the candidates based on their scores in JEE Main 2019.

    JEE Main Reservation of Seats 2019- How to claim reservation?

    • Candidates will need to specify their category and personal details while filling up the JEE Main 2019 application form.
    • During the application filling and counselling process, candidates belonging to reserved categories will need to provide a valid proof of their category reservation.
    • Aspirants must note that candidates failing to provide the required documents, will be considered under the unreserved category.

    JEE Main Reservation of Seats 2019: Documents Required

    Candidates belonging to the reserved categories will need to present the following documents:

    • Category certificate (issued by the competent authority in a prescribed format)
    • Disability certificate (Person with disability candidates)
    • Domicile certificate (Home state category candidates)
    • Income certificate (General category candidates)

    JEE Main reservation of seats for 2019 has not been released by the exam conducting authority, i.e. NTA.
