JEE Main January 2020 –National Testing Agency has started the application process for JEE Main 2020 exam to be held in January month. Interested candidates need to fill up the application form from 3 to 30 September 2019. Now, JEE Main will have a separate paper to offer admission to B.Planning program. National Testing Agency, also popular as NTA, conducts the JEE Main 2020 exam to offer admissions to the aspiring candidates. NTA will soon release JEE Main 2020 Mock Test for the aspirants, the same will be made available in online mode on the official website of NTA.     JEE Main January 2020 Eligibility Criteria

    The candidates who have made up their mind to fill up the online application form of JEE Main January 2020 must fulfill the Eligibility Criteria set by the conducting authority. JEE Main Eligibility Criteria for 2020 exam will be as prescribed here. As per the official notification, the eligibility to appear in the JEE Main 2020 exam is as follows-

    Age Limit – For appearing in the JEE (Main) examination there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed XII examination in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) examination – 2020. The candidates should satisfy themselves about the eligibility of age limit requirements of the Institutes in which he/she is desirous of taking admission.

    Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE) – Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2017 or 2019; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020 are eligible to appear in both January 2020 and April 2020 JEE Main 2020 Examination. Candidates who passed Class 12th/ Qualifying examination 2016 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2020 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2020.

    Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination (QE) – Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE Main 2020. The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE Main 2020 and if such candidates appear in JEE Main 2020 by furnishing wrong information, their rank/result will not be declared.

    Eligibility for Admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board – Admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank as explained above in section 2.10subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12thclass examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12thclass examination.

    Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.E./B.Tech. & B. Arch. /B.Planning Courses in NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs shall be as under.

    B.E/B.TECH. – Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/  Technical Vocational subject.

    B.ARCH./B.PLANNING – Passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics.

    Eligibility for Admission to Other Institutions – The above mentioned policy could also be adopted by other Technical Institutions participating in counselling through JoSAA/CSAB. In case a State opts to admit students in the engineering Colleges affiliated to State Universities, the State may prepare a separate rank list based on criteria decided by them.

    Number of seats in various institutions – For all admission related procedures/queries, the candidates are advised to refer the website of JoSAA, Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) or the concerned State government/institute after the declaration of ranks of JEE (Main)–2020. The letter/e-mails/grievances/RTI cases/Court cases regarding admission related procedures/queries will not be entertained by NTA.

    Reservation of seats – As per Government of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. These categories are:

    1. Other Backward Classes (OBC) if they belong to Non Creamy Layer (NCL)
    2. Scheduled Castes (SC)
    3. Scheduled Tribes (ST)
    4. Persons with Disability (PwD)with 40% or more disability

    The benefit of reservation for admission to NITs/IIITs and CFTIs shall be given only to those classes/castes/tribes which are in the respective central list published by the Govt. of India. For admission to State Engineering colleges who have opted for admission through JEE (Main)-2020, the reservation rules of that State shall apply. The letter/e-mails/grievances/RTI cases/Court cases regarding reservation criteria will not be entertained by NTA.

    How to Check JEE Main January Result 2020 & Rank List

    • Initially, the candidates need to visit the official website and login into their account.
    • Now, the aspirants need to click on the link showing the JEE Main January Result 2020.
    • The dialog box will ask the enrollment number and DOB (Date of Birth) of the candidates.

    The qualifying status of the candidates for JEE Advanced 2020 will also be shown in the result of JEE Main January 2020.     JEE Main January Counselling 2020

    Once the result of JEE Main January 2020 has been declared by NTA, the board will release the detailed program of JEE Main January Counselling 2020. Like always, the apex body will release the separate counselling schedules for state-level as well as All India Rank holders.

    • The process of JEE Main January Counselling will be performed online only.
    • JoSAA and CSAB will be responsible for organizing the centralized counselling in different rounds.
    • The candidates will have to register initially to appear in the counselling session of JEE Main January 2020.
    • The second step for the aspirants would be to fill the college & course preference details.
    • The conducting body will announce the provisional seat allotment letters on the basis of college & course preferences saved by the candidates, their rank, category, and seat availability.
    • Now the provisional seat allotment letters will be provided online for download. After downloading the letters, candidates will have to pay the seat acceptance fee.
    • At the reporting center after fee submission, the documents of the candidates will be verified by the concerned authority.
    • After seat confirmation at the reporting center, candidates will have to turn up to their allotted college to complete the further admission procedure.
