JEE Main January 2019 – NTA (National Testing Agency) will conduct the JEE Main 2019 exam to be held in the month of January 2019 to offer admissions to the aspiring candidates. NTA has released JEE Main 2019 Mock Test for the aspirants, the same is available in online mode on the official website of NTA. The candidates can also download the mock test to practice in their systems. Aspirants qualifying this joint entrance exam will be eligible for admissions to various B. Tech and B. Arch program offered by the government and other participating institutes taking JEE Main score. In the month of July, in a press release of NTA the MHRD minister Prakash Javadekar, JEE Main examination will be conducted twice in a year, i.e. in January and April. Along with this declaration, the tentative schedule for JEE Main January 2019 was also released. Application form for JEE Main exam to be conducted in January 2019 has been made available from 1st September 2018 to 30th September 2018 in online mode for the candidates willing to apply for the exam. JEE Main January 2019 exam will be conducted 6th January 2019 to 20th January 2019 in 8 different settings at various exam centres. The candidates will have now good chances to get admission in their desired participating institutes. Formerly, JEE Main was conducted by the Central Board of School Examination (CBSE) once in a year but, from the year 2019 JEE Main and will be conducted twice in a year.     JEE Main January 2019 Eligibility Criteria

    The candidates who have made up their mind to fill up the online application form of JEE Main January 2019 must fulfill the Eligibility Criteria set by the conducting authority. JEE Main Eligibility Criteria for January 2019 exam will be as under. As per the official notification, the eligibility to appear in the JEE Main 2019 exam is as follows-

    Age Limit – For appearing in the JEE (Main) examination there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed XII examination in 2017, 2018 or appearing in 2019 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) examination – 2019. The candidates should satisfy themselves about the eligibility of age limit requirements of the Institutes in which he/she is desirous of taking admission.

    Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE) – Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2017 or 2018; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 are eligible to appear in both January, 2019 and April, 2019 JEE Main 2019 Examination. Candidates who passed Class 12th/ Qualifying examinationin 2016 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2020 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2019.

    Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination (QE) – Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE Main 2019. The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE Main 2019 and if such candidates appear in JEE Main 2019 by furnishing wrong information, their rank/result will not be declared.

    Eligibility for Admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating through Central Seat Allocation Board – Admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank as explained above in section 2.10subject to the condition that the candidate should havesecured at least 75% marks in the 12thclass examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12thclass examination.

    Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.E./B.Tech. & B. Arch. /B.Planning Courses in NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs shall be as under.

    B.E/B.TECH. – Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjectsalong with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/  Technical Vocationalsubject.

    B.ARCH./B.PLANNING – Passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics.

    Eligibility for Admission to Other Institutions – The above mentioned policy could also be adopted by other Technical Institutions participating in counselling through JoSAA/CSAB. In case a State opts to admit students in the engineering Colleges affiliated to State Universities, the State may prepare separate rank list based on criteria decided by them.

    Number of seats in various institutions – For all admission related procedures/queries, the candidates are advised to refer the website of JoSAA, Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) or the concerned State government/institute after declaration of ranks of JEE (Main)–2019. The letter/e-mails/grievances/RTI cases/Court cases regarding admission related procedures/queries will not be entertained by NTA.

    Reservation of seats – As per Government of India rules candidates belonging to certain categories are admitted to seats reserved for them based on relaxed criteria. These categories are:

    (i) Other Backward Classes (OBC) if they belong to Non Creamy Layer (NCL)

    (ii)Scheduled Castes (SC)

    (iii)Scheduled Tribes (ST)

    (iv)Persons with Disability (PwD)with 40% or more disability

    Benefit of reservation for admission to NITs/IIITs and CFTIs shall be given only to those classes/castes/tribes which are in the respective central list published by the Govt. of India. For admission to State Engineering colleges who have opted for admission through JEE (Main)-2019, the reservation rules of that State shall apply. The letter/e-mails/grievances/RTI cases/Court cases regarding reservation criteria will not be entertained by NTA.

    How to Check JEE Main January Result 2019 & Rank List

    The aspirants need to follow the below-mentioned steps to check the JEE Main January Result 2019 along with their rank status:

    • Initially, the candidates need to visit the official website and login into their account.
    • Now, the aspirants need to click on the link showing the JEE Main January Result 2019.
    • The dialog box will ask the enrollment number and DOB (Date of Birth) of the candidates.
    • After feeding the same, the result will appear on the screen.

    The qualifying status of the candidates for JEE Advanced 2019 will also be shown in the result of JEE Main January 2019. The aspirants, who will qualify for JEE Advanced 2019, will have to follow the admission procedure as defined by the JEE Advanced 2019 conducting body. NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other JEE Main participating institutions will consider the candidature of the aspirants for admission who wouldn’t qualify for JEE Advanced 2019.

    JEE Main January Counselling 2019

    Once the result of JEE Main January 2019 have been declared by NTA, the board will release the detailed program of JEE Main January Counselling 2019. Like always, the apex body will release the separate counselling schedules for state-level as well as All India Rank holders.

    • The process of JEE Main January Counselling will be performed online only.
    • JoSAA and CSAB will be responsible for organizing the centralized counselling in different rounds.
    • The candidates will have to register initially to appear in the counselling session of JEE Main January 2019.
    • The second step for the aspirants would be to fill the college & course preference details.
    • The conducting body will announce the provisional seat allotment letters on the basis of college & course preferences saved by the candidates, their rank, category, and seat availability.
    • Now the provisional seat allotment letters will be provided online for download. After downloading the letters, candidates will have to pay the seat acceptance fee.
    • At the reporting center after fee submission, the documents of the candidates will be verified by the concerned authority.
    • After seat confirmation at the reporting center, candidates will have to turn up to their allotted college to complete the further admission procedure.
