GCET 2019- The application process has been started on 25 March 2019. The candidates willing to take up the exam need the submit the same latest by 30 March 2019. The application form is made available only on the official website of DTE Goa. Exam conducting authority has also announced the important dates for GCET 2019. The offline mode application form can be filled from 25 to 30 March 2019. The exam for Physics and Chemistry will be conducted on 7th May 2019, and for Mathematics, it will be conducted on 8th May 2019. Till now only exam dates (for B.E. and B.Pharma), application process date, admit card release dates have been released by the authority. As soon as the dates for other events get released, we will update it here on this page. GCET stands for the Goa Common Entrance Test. It is a state level entrance test which is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education of the Goa State once a year in order to give admissions to candidates in the undergraduate engineering institutes of Goa. GCET has a total of around 1,300 seats in various engineering institute located in Goa. For getting admission in the MBBS course, good marks are required in the NEET exam. Similarly, B.Arch course admission is done on the basis of the NATA score. This article provides all the details related to GCET 2019. The GCET is an elementary test for the candidates who are inclined towards acquiring better academic studies. This test is concluded to evaluate each candidate on the basis of merit and the quantum of knowledge.     GCET 2019 Application Form Procedure

    The following steps describe the process that the interested candidates must follow in order to fulfil all the requirements related to GCET 2019:

    1. The applicants who want admission under GCET 2019 would require visiting the official website of Directorate of Technical Education, Goa, i.e., http://dte.goa.gov.in. From the website, the applicant must download the prospectus when it would be made available by DTE. The applicants must take the print out of the prospectus. Candidates can also collect the prospectus from the Application Reception center of the DTE, Goa.
    2. There would be two GCET 2019 Application Forms within the prospectus, which would have the Names- Form A and Form B along with the Photo Admit card. The applicants require submitting the properly filled Application Form A and the photo Admit card before the last week of April 2019.
    3. Before submitting, the GCET 2019 Application Form A, the applicants must check that they have whether they have nicely filled the form or not. The candidate must give all of their relevant personal details by filling them correctly in Form A and should write down their nearest centre as the preferred centre in the form.

    Applicants must keep in mind that requests made for changes in the form, especially change of centre, would not be accepted once Admit card would get issued to them. The applicants must be careful while filling their Form A because all the incomplete application forms would be summarily rejected by the DTE, Goa.

    1. Applicants require submitting the GCET 2019 Application Form A by visiting their opted Application reception centre in person. The Applicant would also need to submit a demand draft of Rs. 1,500/-, that must be drawn in favour of Director of Technical Education (DTE) and payable at Panaji city of Goa.
    2. The GCET 2019 Application Form must be submitted with Demand Draft, 3 Photographs, SSC pass certificate and 12th standard pass certificate/ admit card, (if recently appeared).
    3. Form B is filled when an applicant has been selected for Admission, after the declaration of results. Form B would be accepted sometime around the end week of May. All those applicants who are planning for GCET 2019 are advised to thoroughly read the prospectus before filling its application forms. 

    Further Steps to Fill Application Form for GCET 2019 Exam

    To apply for the GCET 2019 exam, the aspirants must be able to furnish all the required information and must fill the application form as per the furnished guidelines provided on the official website.

    • The candidates must download the application form and further make a copy by taking a print out of it. The application must be submitted offline filled by the candidate in his or her own handwriting.
    • The candidate must submit the filled application form at the precise location as prescribed by the GCET governing body through their official website.
    • It is tentatively assumed that the application form shall be available from the first week of April 2019.
    • Each candidate is allowed with the facility to submit the application form till the last week of April 2019.
    • Candidates are also required to take the printout of Form B of the admission manual during the time of downloading the acknowledgments page.

    Application Fee

    The Application fee of the GCET 2019 will be around Rs. 1,800. This amount must be submitted via Demand Draft, made in the favour of the “Director of the Technical Education” and payable at the Panaji, Goa. The Demand Draft can be drawn from any bank in India.

    Exam Pattern:

    The following are the information related to the GCET Exam Pattern 2019:

    • The GCET exams are always given in the offline mode using, pen and paper
    • GCET 2019 exam contains Objective Multiple choice questions (MCQs), i.e., the candidate would have to select an option out of the 4 given questions
    • The total Duration of Exam would be 120 minutes, at maximum
    • Each subject would have 75 questions and there would be a total of 225 marks
    • Marking scheme of GCET allots 1 mark for each question that is answered correctly and there is no provision of negative marking for giving wrong answers
    • The GCET exam subjects are- Physic, Chemistry, and Maths

    GCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

    The conducting body of GCET has structured the following set of rules, which every applicant aspiring to go through GCET 2019 should know about:

    Age-

    • Candidates who want to do engineering courses have no age limit.

    Nationality-

    • Indian Nationals, NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs are eligible to get admission under the GCET selection procedure. NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs would be given admission under the reserved seat category made for them.

    Qualification-

    • The required qualification for a candidate is that he or she should be HSSC passed from either Goa or CBSE Board. Candidates will be eligible for GCET if he/she has done any other course which is considered to be at par with the 10+2 of the CBSE board.
    • The Candidates must have at least five subjects in his 10+2. He/she must have English, Maths, and Physics as his/her mandatory subjects and one out of chemistry, Computer-Science, Bio-Technology, and Biology as a secondary subject.
    • The percentage of marks required for a general category candidate to get admission under the scheme of GCET 2019 is – 45%. On the other hand, candidates coming from SC, ST and OBC category will need at least 40% in their 10+2 exam to be eligible for GCET 2019.

    GCET Admit Card 2019

    GCET 2019 Admit card would be issued to the applicants once they submit their GCET 2019 Application Form. All of the GCET 2019 admit cards will be issued individually to all of the candidates. Candidates can get their admit card on the same day when they would submit their GCET 2019 application Form- A to the admission committee. The last date of submission of application form and receiving the admit card would sometime at the end of April 2019.

    GCET Result 2019

    The GCET 2019 results will be released online in the Month of May.  When GCET results get declared the candidates can check their scores by visiting the official site of the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa. The result would be displayed in the format of the roll number of candidates and the marks he/she got in the exam’s three subjects.

    GCET 2019 Answer Key

    After the candidates would have given their GCET 2019 exams, the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa would release the answer keys for the GCET 2019. All the candidates are advised to go through it in order to tally how many questions they were able to answer correctly out of the total 225 questions. Comparing the answer key with the candidates answer sheet would make the candidate able to calculate his/her marks which he/she got in the exam and would also help to understand form the committed mistakes.

    Counselling of GCET 2019

    After the GCET 2019, all the shortlisted candidates will be invited for counselling. The counselling will be done somewhere in the month of May, will be conducted in offline mode and which consist of 3 rounds. For being a part of the counselling session of GCET 2019, all the shortlisted candidates will have to fill an application form. During the counselling period, all of the required original documents and their photocopies of the candidate would be verified at the location of the counselling event. The schedule for counselling of the candidates would be prepared on the basis of merit rank, therefore those who will secure good marks in GCET 2019 will be given more priority by the admission conducting authority in seat allotment process, than the others.

    The GCET 2019 Counselling has a total of three rounds. At the end of each round the GCET 2019 authority would publish the list of all of the candidates who have been selected for admission. All of the selected Candidates would then have to reach and report to their respective allocated college or institute along with all of their original documents.
