Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, commonly known as GATE, is a national level common entrance exam conducted by the IIT Delhi for the candidates to pursue M. Tech or Ph.D. courses from IITs and IISc. Official dates have been announced by the conducting authority on its website. The applicants who are applying for GATE exam 2020 will have to ensure that they carry the below-given documents at the time of filling the GATE application form 2020:
- Those who are pursuing a Masters or higher degree need to submit the certificate for the same either original or provisional.
- The students who are in the final year need to provide their Provisional Certificate Letter in the format that will be issued by Dean or Home of Institute or Registrar or Head of Department.

Process to fill GATE Application Form 2020
In order to apply for the GATE 2020 exam, the candidates need to properly fill the GATE application form 2020 and submit the same before the end date. The following steps should be noted by the applicants for successful filling and submission of GATE application form 2020:

Step 1: Registration via GOAPS
- First of all the applicants need to make registration online via GOAPS where they will have to enter the details like name, mobile number, and email ID. Note that the details should be genuine and valid as all the further communication will be made through the registered email address and contact number. The applicants from abroad will be communicated via email only.
- Once the registration is done, the applicants will get the enrollment number via email and SMS and this needs to be retained for further use.
- For verification purposes, OTP will also be forwarded to the mobile number of the candidates.
- The candidates need to pick any password for the security of their account and this needs to be unique and confidential.
Step 2: Filling details in GATE Application Form 2020
After registration, the applicants need to complete the details in the GATE application form 2020 that includes personal, communication, academic, and other information. First, the applicants need to enter their enrollment number and the password for login and then tap on Start the GATE 2020 Application tab to fill the below-given details in it:
Personal Details: The applicants need to mention their name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, Father’s or Mother’s name and much more in the form. Contact Details: The applicants need to mention their mobile number and communication address details.
Academic Details: The details of the undergraduate degree and other related information will be provided by the candidates through the GATE application form 2020. They also need to submit the certificate of eligibility certificate in the format of PDF.
Centres for GATE Exam: While making the choice for test centres, the applicants need to choose two centres from the zone they belong to and one from some other zone.
GATE Paper: The candidates need to choose the GATE Paper.
Photo ID Proof: The applicants also need to provide a valid and genuine photo ID proof and this will also be carried by the candidates on the examination day.
Step 3: Online uploading of necessary documents
In the next step, the aspirants need to upload the scanned images of signature, photograph and other important documents (if needed) as per the specified format and size are given by the exam conducting authorities. Step 6: GATE Application Form Submission
After making the fee payment, the GATE application form 2020 will be submitted online via the GOAPS website. The authority will provide an online window for the rectification of the details in the GATE application form 2020. Note that this window will remain open for a particular time period and then it will get closed. The applicants need to make the changes in the form within this specified time only.
