BITSAT Exam Pattern 2019 – Exam pattern for BITSAT is described by the exam conducting authority, Birla Institute of Technology and Science. BITS Pilani will conduct BITSAT 2019 exam to offer admissions to the aspiring candidates into various under graduate degree courses. This university-level exam is expected to be conducted in the month of May 2019, tentatively. Before starting the preparations, every candidate must be well acquainted with the BITSAT Exam Pattern 2019 to understand the structure of exam well. Questions in the exam will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology, English Proficiency, Logical Reasoning subjects. There will be 45 questions from Mathematics, 15 from English proficiency, 40 questions each from Physics and Chemistry section, and 10 from Logical Reasoning. BITSAT Exam Pattern 2019

  • For each correct answer, candidates will be rewarded with 3 marks each.
  • 1 mark each will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • BITSAT 2019 exam will be conducted for a total time duration of 3 hours. No time limit is there for the different sections. The candidate can do it according to their ease.
  • If any candidate completes the entire paper on time, then they can get the extra 12 questions from the physics, chemistry, and mathematics. They will get 4 questions from each section. Once they complete the 150 questions (on skipping questions too), they would get this set.
  • But remember no changes can be made on the previous set once you start the later one. So better check the 150 questions prior to start the extra ones.
  • BITSAT exam pattern 2019 will have multiple choice questions as before. 4 options are given for each question. Candidates will need to select any one of the four options they feel is right.
  • Mark the options correctly as there is negative marking for the wrong answer. If you are not sure, better skip the question.

According to the BITSAT exam pattern 2019, the 4 sections consist of Physics, Chemistry, Math, English proficiency and logical reasoning. Each of these sections contains 150 MCQs.

BITSAT Exam Pattern 2019 – Important Points to Remember

  • Mode of language for all the questions and instructions in the exam will be English only.
  • All the questions will be of objective type, i.e. there will be multiple choice questions.
  • Out of all the four options for a question, any one option will be the correct one.
  • Candidates will need to choose any one option out of four, which they feel is right.
  • Aspirants are advised to make the guesses wisely as there is negative marking of 1 mark each for every wrong answer.
  • For each correct answer, candidates will be rewarded with 3 marks each.
  • For each incorrect answer, 1 mark each will be deducted.
  • For questions not attempted, no marks will be deducted.
  • Candidate can change the answer anytime if they are unsure.
  • There is no time limit for individual parts of the test. Total duration is of 3 hours for the entrance test. As per their convenience and preference of questions to be solved on priority, candidates can attempt the paper.
  • The questions are selected randomly from a large question bank, so the question sets would differ.
  • If a candidate attempts all 150 questions without skipping in 180 minutes, they get 12 more questions to solve. The extra questions will be from Mathematics/ Biology, Chemistry, Physics. (Once a candidate opts for extra questions, they cannot go back to the previous 150 questions.)
  • The computer will announce the scores immediately after the exam to maintain transparency in terms of number of correct answers and incorrect answers.
  • Aspirants will be able to check their scores on the website the next day.
  • It is advisable to all the candidates to take a printout of their respective scores through the website.
