The Union Public Service Commission has announced the schedule for the examination for the UPSC Combined Defense Services Test 2016 and the same is scheduled to be held on the 14th of February 2016. Those candidates who are interested as well as eligible candidates can apply for the same as per the pre prescribed format.
UPSC Combined Defense Services 2016 Eligibility Criteria
Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy:
Those candidates who wish to apply for this post must ensure that they possess a Bachelors Degree in any discipline and the qualifying degree should be via a recognized University or Institute.
Those candidates who wish to apply for this particular post should ensure that they possess a degree in any of the given disciplines- B.Sc with Physics and Mathematics as subjects or a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.). The candidates should also ensure that the qualifying degree should be via an Institute or University that’s recognized.
Air Force Academy:
Those candidates who wish to apply for this particular exam should ensure that they possess a Bachelors Degree and have cleared Class 12 examinations with Physics and Mathematics as the core subjects. Also those candidates who do not have Physics and Mathematics as core subjects in class 12 but possess an engineering degree are considered eligible to apply.
All those candidates who are currently pursuing their final year are also deemed eligible to apply conditionally, the condition being that they will be required to produce proof of clearing the degree level examination as per the schedule.

UPSC Combined Defense Services 2016 Paper Pattern
The UPS CDS will be constructed in an Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions) format.
The written exam for the Indian Military Academy , Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy will be consisting of questions from the subjects of subjects General Knowledge, English and Elementary Mathematics and each section will be for a duration of 2 hours and will constitute of 100 marks thus summing up to a total of 300 marks.
The Written exam for the Officers Training Academy will be evaluating the candidates on the domains of Elementary Mathematics and General Knowledge and being constructed as per a similar format the duration of each section will be around 2 hours and will constitute of a 100 marks each and thus summing up to a total of 200 marks.
