JoSAA 2015 conduction of common counseling

For the purpose of the allotment of seats in the Indian Institute of Technology commonly known as the IIT, ISM, National Institute of Technology also known as NIT, Indian Institute of Information Technology also known as IIITs and the GFT; The Joint Seat Allocation Authority commonly known as the JoSAA is necessary for the choice filling process. The admission into all the academic programmes that are offered via these Institutes will be done via a single platform this current year onwards.

Previously the CSAB and IIT JAB used to be conducted for the very same purpose but this current year for the very first time a joint counseling is going to be conducted for the academic year 2015-16. The JoSAA is the conduction body for the purpose of the common counseling session.

Those candidates who did submit the seat acceptance fees during the JoSAA counseling, and have reported at any one of the reporting centre of the NIT+ System but failed to report in the respective participating institutes that are inclusive of NITs/IIITs/GFTIs only will also be considered as having rejected the offer. These candidates can seek a refund of their seat acceptance fee post the deduction of 1,000/- INR via the CSAB portal.

As of now nearly 440 candidates have filled out incorrect bank details such as the account number, IFSC code etc and the CSAB has already sent a mail regarding this mistake and asking for the re-filling of correct information.

Those candidates who have cancelled their admissions at the NITs,/IIITs/GFTIs can seek for a refund of their fees via the Institute as per the norms of the Institute concerned. The seats in the colleges will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of their merit and as well as the choice filled.
