Gujarat board implements changes in the exam schedule

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary education board has implemented certain changes in its timetable for the third semester examination for class 12th and the semester 1 examination of class 11th.

The board has declared that the said examination which was supposed to be held on the 9th of November which is Dhanteras and thus is preponed on the 30th of October. Previously the examinations were to commence on the 2nd of November and conclude on the 9th of November but due to the recent development it will now be commencing on the 30th of October.

The Board had to implement the changes under pressure.

The Board had to implement this change under the pressure of the students and the parents body which made representations to the GSHSEB to make changes in the date of the examination. The parents stated that the festivity in the state commences from the festival of Dhanteras which is just two days prior to the festival of Diwali. The Board during the declaration of the academic calendar at the start of the session has announced Diwali vacation from the 9th of November.

The Gujarat board had to implement changes in the examination schedule under the pressure of the students and parents body on account of the festival of Dhanteras.
