The COMEDK (Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) Entrance exam will most likely undergo major changes with regard to its pattern as the Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) will go online from the next academic year.
This proposal came into existence considering the fact that UGET 2015 received as many as 1.8 lakh applications than the usual number. AS Srikant the Chief Executive of COMEDK claimed that “The number of applications for the UGET hovers around 65,000 to 85,000 each year. But this year, we received more. Going by the increase in numbers, we thought it is better to hold an online exam across the country rather than open offline test centres, as that would involve containing malpractices at the exam centres and safe transportation of question papers.”
Online method for COMEDK UGET will be a timesaver and will be widely welcomed.
This particular methodology is most likely to gain widespread acceptance and popularity as it would lead to minimal expenditure of money and will be a time saver for those applicants who will be applying from outside the State of Karnataka. This will give the students more time to students to prepare as they would not have to travel in order to appear for the exam though the counseling process would be conducted offline.
This test is held to provide admissions to candidates in engineering and medical degree courses offered by colleges/ institutions that are affiliated to COMEDK.
