According to the Central Board of Secondary Education in a meeting held on Wednesday, CBSE board exams 2019 for class 10th and 12th will start from February month. The second half of February will be reserved for conducting the exams for Skill Education (Vocational) and allied subjects. In the next week, CBSE will share the 10th & 12th board time table for the exam.
The board’s decision is seen as the aftereffect of an order passed by Delhi HC on July 11, 2018. This order said that the results of CBSE, along with the re-evaluation of marks “are taken into account whilst determining the cut-off date for admission to colleges of the University of Delhi.” After this order, the HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar had strictly instructed CBSE to abide by the judgment of the court.
Besides of the 40 various vocational subjects, the exams for the subjects with larger practical component and shorter theory, including Web Applications, Typography & Computer Applications, Office Communication, etc. will also be conducted in February. As the consequences of organizing the exams early in February, CBSE will also release the main as well as re-evaluation result earlier than the previous years so that the students can go ahead with participating in the admission process of degree colleges and universities across India, said the board officials while addressing the press conference.
Out of 10.76 lakh students registered students for CBSE board exams, last year 10.20 lakh had turned up in the exam conducted from Marc h to April 2018.
