CAT 2016 More applicants apply than last year

This year, the number of applicants rose to 2, 32,434 compared to last year’s 2, 18,664, as per the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

The registration procedure for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2016 closed on September 27 and this year, the number of applicants rose to 2, 32,434 compared to previous years 2, 18,664, as per the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. The examination will be conducted on December 4.

As per the official notification, the IIMs will organize CAT in two sessions for admission to various management programmes.

Eligibility criteria:

Educational qualification:

All of you who want to appear for the examination must possess minimum a Bachelors degree in any discipline from a well known institute/university.

Selection process:

You would be selected based on Group Discussion (GD) Personal Interviews (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) round.

Important dates:

Admit cards will be declared on October 18
The examination would be conducted on December 4

 

CAT 2016: Here are the topics one should prepare

Note: MCQ – multiple choice questions and NE – numerical entry questions

Verbal Ability:

  • Jumbled Sentences: (3-5 questions – NE)
  • Paragraph Completion and Summary (2-3 questions – NE)
  • Reading Comprehension: (4-5 sets – MCQ)

Quantitative Aptitude: (All topics – MCQ + NE)

  • Arithmetic
  • Numbers
  • Geometry

 

Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning: (All topics – MCQ + NE)

  • Arrangements (1-2 sets)
  • Tables and Graphs (4 sets)
  • Numerical Logic(1-2 sets)
  • Venn Diagrams(0-1 sets)
