XAT 2019 Exam Pattern with Part Wise
|Parts||Section||No. of Questions||Duration||Points for Negative Marking|
|Part I||Verbal and logical ability||72||170 minutes||
For any incorrect answer, 0.25 marks
For more than 8 unattempted questions, 0.05 marks
|Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation|
|Part II||General Knowledge||25||10 minutes||No Negative Marking at all|
Marking Scheme- As per the XAT 2019 scoring pattern, all questions are equally graded. For every wrong answer, a 1/4 mark is reduced. In the exam, the aspirants have the option to skip 12 questions. In addition, any unanswered question carries a negative score of 0.05. So the percentile calculation will be as follows
1 right answer= 1 mark
1 incorrect answer=1*-0.25=-0.25
60X1 =60 (marks for your right answers)
20X (-0.25) =-5 (for your incorrect answers)
8X (-0.05) = – 0.4 (for unanswered questions)
So the total score will be= 54.6

A prior registration to take part in the Counselling process must take place before the commencement of the process. Applicants must pay according to the desired institution. After successful registration, applicants must pay the fee for the selected courses. If you do not pay the XAT advisory fee, your admission will be disregarded by XAT 2019. Every participating institute has their own criteria for selection- few believe in GD and PI while some rely on WAT and PI. Hence, the process will never be same in different institutes.
