TISSNET 2019 Exam Trends – TISS, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai conducts TISSNET every year for the candidates willing to pursue postgraduate programs. The candidates, who are preparing for TISSNET 2019, must know about the exam pattern as well as the paper pattern so that the preparation will be easy. Till the year 2012, TISSNET exam held was pen paper based but from the year 2013 onwards the exam held was online that is computer based test. Furthermore, untill 2012 the test paper was divided into two parts that are part – 1 and part – 2. Part – 1 was common for all the aspirants and each one had to appear for this section and the section carried 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Part – 2 was based on the course he/she applied for. The questions asked in this part was either descriptive or objective based on the course. However, there was slight change introduced in the question paper pattern in 2013, that is a common question paper was made for all the courses and till then the same pattern is being followed but in the year 2014, the number of questions was reduced to 95 from 100, which again was increased to 100 questions from the year 2015 onwards. TISSNET 2019 Exam Trends according to pattern

The candidates who are willing to appear in the exam for the year 2019 must know about the exam pattern so that preparation will be easy. The details are given below which will give an overview of the exam pattern of the previous year.

  • Mode of Exam: The exam held is online that is computer based test.
  • Number of Section: The question paper was divided into 3 sections.
  • Total number of question: There are 100 questions asked in the exam.
  • Time duration: The time given to the candidates to complete the exam is 1hour 40 minutes that is 100 minutes.
  • Marking scheme: Each correct answer carries 1 mark and no marks will be deducted for the wrong answer
  • Medium of question: The mode of exam is in the English language.

    • Marking scheme – One mark was given to correct answer and no marks were deducted for wrong answers.

    • Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation – The overall difficulty level of this section was easy and the topics that were included such as Venn Diagrams, Geometry, Word Series, Ratio & Proportion, Mensuration, and Percentage.
    • Verbal Ability – The difficulty level of this section was considered to be easy and the questions asked were from Reading Comprehension and English Proficiency and the following topics were included such as Fill in the blanks, Word Substitutes, Idioms, Analogy, Antonyms- Synonyms etc.

    • Focus on basic and fundamental concepts as well as practice Class 10th and 12th Maths to strengthen your formulas and clear your concepts.

    About TISSNET

    TISS, Tata Institute of Social Science conducts TISSNET, the national level entrance exam every year to offer admission in master programs in the five campuses of TISS at Mumbai, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Chennai, and Taljupur. The exam will be held on 13th January 2019, which was earlier scheduled to be held on 19th January 2019 in an online mode that is computer-based test carrying 100 multiple choice questions. Each correct question will carry one mark and no negative marking for wrong answers. The result will most probably be declared in the last week of January 2019.
