IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria 2019 – IIM Bangalore also known as IIM-B is an institute for management. IIM conducts CAT examination every year usually in the month of November. CAT is a national level entrance test for the candidates who have completed their graduation and looking for postgraduate management program from IIM that is Indian Institute of Management. The admission criteria of IIM Bangalore for the year 2019 will start after the conduction of CAT 2018 exam (for Indian Nationals) and GMAT (for Foreign Nationals).     IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria 2019 for PGP Program

    • The candidates to get into IIM-B or IIM Bangalore must have appeared in the entrance test of CAT (for Indian National) whereas Foreign Nationals candidates must have appeared in GMAT exam.
    • After the entrance test, the candidates must fulfill the cutoff criteria and a composite score that are calculated on the basis of marks scored in matriculation, intermediate and graduation. Based on the marks scored, the candidates will get shortlisted for Written Test and Personal Interview round.
    • The final selection will be done on the basis of Final Composite Score that includes score in PI and WAT rounds and CS at the previous stage.

    • The candidates must have appeared in CAT exam. Based on the marks acquired, the candidates will get shortlisted by for further round of Written Test and Personal Interview.
    • Moreover, the candidate’s performance in GMAT, CAT, GATE etc. will be included in Parameters. Besides this, their composite score will be calculated on the basis of work experience, past academic score etc.

    • The candidates must have scored marks that fulfill the cutoff percentile of IIM-B.
    • Those candidates who have appeared in the entrance test of CAT, GMAT or GRE will be considered for the admission in IIM-B.
    • The candidates based on the marks scored in CAT, GMAT or GRE entrance test conducted by IIM, work experience, and past academic record, the candidates will get shortlisted for WAT and PI rounds. In an interview round, there will be a panel of two faculty members of IIM-B and one IIM-B alumnus where the communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
    • During the interview, the aspirants have to show the approval letter provides to them by their employers that indicates that he/she is permitted for the above-mentioned program.
    • The final selection will be done based on their work experience, academic performance and also their performance in personal interview round.

    • The candidate for the above-cited programs must have appeared in the entrance test of CAT, GMAT etc.

    IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria 2019 for EPGP Program

    • The candidates to get into IIM-B will have to submit the applications. Further, they will get shortlisted for Personal Interview which will be taken by the panel of two faculty members of IIM-B and one of its alumnus.
    • The final selection will be done on the basis of percentage of the aspirant is merit list that fulfills or meet the cutoff percentile released by IIM-B. Moreover, the final selection also includes the candidate’s performance in PI round, leadership and negotiation qualities, communication skills etc.

    The candidates who fulfill the above-mentioned criteria of IIM-B will be called for selection procedure and composite score that includes marks of matriculation, intermediate and graduation. Now, let’s have a look at the weightage of a composite score:

    • Matriculation and Intermediate: The candidate’s percentage acquired in matriculation and intermediate are calculated by dividing each score by percentile score of 90 obtained in the board.
    • Graduation: The graduation score will be finally accepted if he/she had completed their graduation or if they are in their last year of graduation then the incomplete marks are accepted in place of final year graduation marks.
    • For Professional Courses: The candidates who have done chartered accountancy, company secretary, and cost accounting will be eligible for weight under professional courses. Besides this, the score of professional course is standardized for the first shortlisted candidates.
    • Work Experience: the calculation for work experience based on a Pre-PI score will be calculated according to below- mentioned formula:

    8x/36 if 0<x<36

    8 if x >= 36

    Here, x implies month of work experience as mentioned in the form of CAT.

    Now, it is clear that the work experience is 36, so it will take the maximum marks of work experience. So, the score of maximum work experience is 5.

    Therefore, work experience* work experience score’s quality on the scale of point 5 i.e. 0.25-0.5-1-1.5=2 (given by the interviewer at the time of PI.

    IIM Bangalore Admission Criteria 2019- Phase 2

    The candidates for the admission in IIM-B must appear in the CAT exam. Now the final composite score is calculated on the basis of marks scores in CAT, WAT, PI, work experience, previous academic record etc. So, the candidates must know that IIM-B provides 40 points for CAT exam in which Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension section has 14 marks, data interpretation, and logical reasoning- 16 points, and that of quantitative aptitude- 10 points.

    The component of gender diversity is only applicable for the Pre-PI rank list for the interview round and will not be applicable for the admission process that is the Phase 2.

    The standardization for the candidates shortlisted in the first round or its subdivision is computed as the row score value that is mentioned below:

    IIM Bangalore Final Admission Criteria 2019

    The final selection procedure where both the score of WAT i.e. Writing Ability Test and PI (Personal Interview) is calculated in order to get the aggregate score. However, the candidates will get admission in IIM-B on the basis of final composite or final aggregate score that includes marks in CAT exam, previous academic record, works experience, PI and WAT score.
